         <description><![CDATA[<div>The purpose of this experiment was to see what applications drain certain smartphones’ batteries the most while the phone is on low power mode. To do this, the amount of time it took each battery to decrease by 5% running different types of apps was recorded and compared. The finding was that there was a difference between the iPhone and Android battery saver and that the Android battery saver was better.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For this experiment, we wanted to determine whether there is a significant difference between the battery life of iPhone and Android phones. The phones used in the study were an iPhone 6s, and an LG V20. The iPhone 6s has a battery capacity of 2915 mAh, while the LG V20 has a capacity of 3200 mAh. The aim of the investigation is to determine which phone lasts longer while performing various tasks while the Battery Saver mode is on.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For each phone, the phone was set to low power mode and various applications were used while using another phone as a stopwatch to see how long it took for the battery to decrease 5%. Each phone was set to full brightness and had no other applications open. The control was for each phone was leaving the phone on standby and measuring how much time it took for the phone’s battery to decrease by 5%. The phone was checked periodically to see when the phone had used up 5% battery. For the iPhone 6S, Geometry Dash was used as the game and Pandora as the music streaming service. For the LG V20,Geometry Dash was also used as the game and Pandora as the streaming service. For both, all three treatments (YouTube, gaming, and music) earbuds were used and a wireless internet connection was used.	</div><div>The conditions for inference were met. The Android phone and the iPhone are representative of the whole population of iPhone 6S’s and LG V20’s respectively due to the mass production means that these phones were created by. Therefore the sample of the phones follow a normal distribution. The sample follows the 10% independence rule. One phone is less than 10% of the population of each phone. The sample is considered to be random due to the identical nature of phones. </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The original aim of the experiment was successfully met as a difference was indeed found between the battery saving modes of the Android phone and the iPhone. An additional experiment could be made comparing the battery decrease of smartphones not on battery saver mode and the decrease of phones on battery saver mode. Other experiments could be testing how long phones could play music out loud with power saving mode on. Some confounding factors could’ve been the viewing of different videos on YouTube and the different types of music listened to during the music treatment. A future experiment could ensure that the videos viewed and music listened to during the treatments were the same to eliminate variables that could possibly skew the data. The use of data/WiFi could’ve also skewed the data. To eliminate the influence of these variables, the same type of music and the same movie could’ve been downloaded beforehand on each phone, so that an internet connection wouldn’t be necessary. A more taxing game could’ve been also used to really test the battery life of the phones. Different Android phones also could’ve been tested against different iPhones for further experimentation.</div>]]></description>
