Daughter went IBDP and really struggled and after all that is so burnt out of school doesn't know if she will continue. Brother went with the alternative pathway, after almost dropping out of school in 9th and 10th grade. Brother went from hating school to loving school because of our pathway. Ended up creating a computer game, it is on discord, ended up LOVING school and is headed to michigan for computer programming.

Administrators need to be aware of their bias when it comes to DP, etc. They need to create compelling language and ensure counselors are passing the message that the IBDP isn't the end all be all of curriculum.

I run into the situation where I cannot tell a student that the IB would absolutely wreck them as a student because we have to be inclusive and make sure everyone can do the IB. Would it actually help a student to be told, perhaps this program isn't the right fit for you, you can do it, but perhaps it will over whelm you, have you seen our other pathway. It is just as academically challenging, but it will offer you more direction to your learning.
