Creativity in my field (data analytics) is about 'laziness' and finding the easiest or most efficient ways of doing things, since traditional ways are often not creative and not efficient in our current world. In a simpler example, I can be creative to automate regular email reminders, than send them out myself everytime.

Creativity can be taught. In my opinion, one will immediately be more creative to explore alternative methods of work if they are a little lazier, or not as hardworking/rule-abiding to follow traditional methods. Therefore, if someone is tired enough to become lazy, they will learn to be more creative.

Creativity is underrated. With the usage of gen AI (ie chatgpt,) people are not using their creativity anymore. By chatgpt-ing everything, they are merely re-using existing examples of work that already exists. This distinguishes their chance of creating a new idea with their own human capability, that is far greater than AI since AI is human-taught.

1) My definition of creativity is the ability to think out of the box and come up with new ideas that are unique and are able to improve on existing problems or solutions. In my sector (psychology), creativity can be seen in the form of continuous research into existing theories and coming up with new ways of research to prove theories or build on theories. For example, using Maslow's theory on the hierarchy of needs, 'self-actualisation' is defined as the desire to fulfill one's full potential and become someone that they are capable of being. This represents as the highest level of human needs. However, achieving self-actualisation has not been seen or proven so far, thus, psychologists that are creative would constantly be coming up with new research questions, research methods, in order to find out how to increase achieving self-actualisation.

2) I do believe that creativity can be taught as I believe that nurture and exposure to problem-solving at a young age can improve and inspire creativity.

3) Creativity is not overrated, rather, it is difficult to come by as it does take a lot of effort and thinking for one to come up with a creative idea. But creativity can be useful in innovation, thus the rarity of creative ideas should continue being celebrated.

1) Creativity is the ability to devise original and innovative solutions to existing and potential problems. For example, design thinking for safer spaces such as integrating innovative urban installations (i.e. well-lit streetlights, lamps) in city landscapes to deter criminals from offending without compromising on the citizens' right to privacy.

2) To a certain extent. Imparting the fundamental characteristics of creativity (e.g. flexibility, curiosity, open-mindedness) can stimulate intellectual growth and critical thinking. Although it may not guarantee creative solutions are produced, it acts as a stepping board for the consideration of alternatives.

3) I do not think it is overrated. Creativity is an essential component for growth and its lack thereof results in a population which only resorts to tried-and-tested methods for problem-solving without innovation, hindering progress. However, it should be in tandem with values such as persistence, hardwork etc for a truly holistic society.

Creativity is generating new ideas or perspectives in regards to a topic. Creativity in finance can be different ways to offer value to a customer, presented as a financial product or insurance coverage; i.e. To enable unlimited change of flight plans, charging customers the average cost-fluctuation of a plane fuel as the price for an option to change flight plans, offers value and adds another earning avenue

Creativity can be inculcated and is most easily taught in adolescence as an instinct to turn to novel ways to derive solutions when immediate fixes are not obvious. This is most likely successful if the child is introduced to having creative ideas and feels safe and celebrated for bringing their unique ideas to fruition.

I wouldn't think creativity is overrated, as it is the most fundamental and human component to new idea formation; without it, innovation and evolution stagnates.

1) I believe that creativity is about generating ideas or solutions that are out of the box or stray away from conventional norms or expectations. In HR, I believe that creativity can be expressed through, for example, finding new ways to recognise employees for their contributions beyond awards or certificates.

2) I think it is hard to say as creativity or being creative is widely subjective and how it is defined varies from person to person. For instance, creativity to me is not a singular trait but more of one that is based on a plethora of elements. This affects my view as to whether or not it can be taught. For example, if someone defines creativity to be open-mindedness or the skill of asking original and unique questions, then I believe that creativity in that sense can be taught or honed in someone.

3) In my experience, I feel that creativity is not overly emphasised in today's society but is something that is being increasingly recognised. I believe that the best way forward is to strike a balance between different values as they all have unique parts to play in different circumstances.
