Learning Outcome: to consider how climate change could impact Indigenous communities and create an artwork that responds to these ideas.
---------------------------
Level: 1-2
---------------------------
Previous knowledge: students are familiar with the concepts of climate change and Indigenous land, but are yet to consider discuss both and how one could impact another.
---------------------------
Lesson Plan:

1. Read 'Why I Love Australia' by Bronwyn Bancroft; encourage students to engage with the text as much as possible.
2. Ask about prior knowledge about Indigenous communities, and about climate change; reminds students of what they already know.
3. Lead into class discussion about how these two could interact, and how it would look for different First Nations communities across Australia. Specific focus on the land we're learning on (for me, that's Bunurong land)
4. Explain that they have to make an artwork responding to these ideas with any materials they want.
5. Utilise a second lesson after this to talk about everyone's artworks and what they thought about while making it.
