The first thing I learned today was that more than half of all child deaths are caused by diseases that are easily treated and preventable. This is because sickness is more easily spread when a place is unsanitary, may be very poor, and doesn't have good healthcare. I also learned that in Laos there are many people who are going blind but do not have the money for medicine. -I didn't know that there were such things as mosquito nets.
-Also the only way to really get malaria is to have a mosquito suck the blood of someone who already had malaria in which transmits the malaria to someone else.

I didn't know that so many people have died from Malaria and that so many people still were. WHO estimated that there were around 229 million cases of Malaria and approximately 409 000 deaths. As of now I'm sure it's only become worse. 

2. Malaria is only found in around 488 Canadians per year. I would assume they get it from travelling. 

3. I also learned how poor some areas are. In Kaisong's village most people end up blind do to lack of healthcare, very poor water quality and little to no food.

More than half of all child   deaths worldwide are from diseases that could  be prevented or easily treated. 

2. 42 out of 1000 children under the  age of five are likely to die each year. Most  of these children die of diseases that can spread by respiratory infections .

3.Many aid organizations are working to  improve this situation in Laos. 3. I was surprised that the millions of solders are killed by malaria because of the poor environment.
