<title>Removable surgical tape seals internal wounds by creating bonds using a polyacrylic acid, N-Hydroxysuccinimide bonds, and disulfide molecules. The chemical component is sprayed on any tissue (even wet tissue) and allowed to dry for less than 5 seconds. The tissue is then sealed in what resembles an internal Band-aid for tissues. If for any reason the surgical tape must be removed, a reducing component is sprayed onto the tape and after 5 seconds, it can easily be removed without damaging the tissue. </title>

<title>Rationale: Removable surgical tape is an excellent alternative to suturing a wound closed. Eliminating suturing a surgical site closed can lead to a reduction in operating room time, leading to less time for a patient under anesthesia and less cost to the patient. Also, wound dehiscence is a common surgical complication resulting in previously sutured or stapled tissues separating. Such an event can create a host of challenges including delayed healing, infection, and the need for additional surgical procedures. Removable surgical tape seals the tissue closed quickly and effectively and prevents the possibility of a wound re-opening. In addition, removable surgical tape provides hemostasis by sealing vessels closed and reducing blood loss. </title>
