Some factors of conformity are: group size, group unanimity, confidence, and self esteem. The size of a group is very precise. Group size cannot be too large or else suspicion will arise as to why everyone is behaving a certain way. Group unanimity is if everyone in a group thinks or acts the same way then an individual will copy the actions of the group in order to fit in.If the entire group does not behave the same way then that makes the individual believe that it is okay to not follow the group. A person's confidence, if it is high, can encourage people to do what they best believe is right. Self esteem is similar in confidence where if a person believes in themselves enough they will be cocky and not follow the rest of the group and be their own person while people with low self esteem don't trust themselves to do the right thing and will just go along with what others are doing. -Isa

Berry and Katz wanted to investigate if individualism and collectivism traits within a culture are correlated with conformity levels. It was found that cultures who value individualism are less likely to feel pressure to conform to a group, while those who value collectivism are more likely to conform to the group. This study supports the idea that group unanimity influences conformity. In Berry and Katz's experiment the Tenme people who value collectivism tend to conform to the groups actions and behaviors. Therefore, if a group of Tenme people all behave one way unanimously, then an individual Tenme person will feel obligated to also follow the group. -Isa
