Explanation: he killed Tybalt for revenge instead of letting the law handle it, leading to Romeo's exile.

Reason #3: He didn't talk to Friar Lawrence before killing himself.

Explanation: This made Juliet unable to be heard by her parents and she felt helpless. The only way she could get out of it was to go to Friar Lawrence, since he was her last ally.

Reason #3: Lady Capulet convincing Prince to exile Romeo.
Quotation: "He is a kinsman to the Montague. Affection makes him false. He speaks not truth. Some twenty of them fought in this black strife, and all those twenty could but kill one life. I beg for justice which thou, Prince, must give. Romeo slew Tybalt. Romeo must not live. (3.1.172-177)
Explanation: After the fight and the death of Mercutio and Tybalt, all of the villagers did not know what happened. Benvolio told most of the truth and made Romeo look like the good guy in the situation. Lady Capulet then completely attacked his story and made the Prince believe that Romeo was at fault. The Prince decided to exile Romeo with the influence of Lady Capulet's words.
