Another thing that was not really a problem but at the same time it was Uncle Victor didn't finish he meal which is very unusual.In chapter two its mostly about money Peter over heard his dad talking and heard that dad had 9,000,000 dollars in the bank. Another thing is dad and uncle victor are talking about how to hide the gold during the war. In chapter three Uncle victor is going to have the kids in Peters class to start a defense club.The town is also building air-raid shelters.In chapter four peter and dad are skiing on rabbit hill Peter needs to see how to get through snake hill to hide the gold from the Nazi.Where uncle victor boat was hidden. In chapter five Peter and his dad were in the woods. Father took Peter to his friends place and Peter saw a cave it was huge. And could fit so many people.It was an brick cave so i didn't get wet.

The Germans order everyone to go back to normal.Which is not good because the kids cant go to school because they have to take care of the gold and traveling things for uncle victor and help out. Mom and Peter went to the Doctor who is one of the people who know about the gold and Mom and Peter want to start a fake epidemic so that the kids would be able to not go to school and help out. In chapter seventeen the kids come down with the German measles which is fake. The Germans tell the kids to stay home so that none of the Germans would get sick . The kids also felt someone is watching them. In chapter eighteen  the kids were felling like they were being watched and then a German popped out of a bush. The kids are also working. The Germans had issuned a new order a curfew. None could be out after sunset. In chapter nineteen the kids think the Germans are spying on them and they need to warn Uncle victor. They cant find him which is not good because they don't know where uncle victor is or how long they have been spying on them. Mom helps them find uncle victor. Per told Peter its going to rain and their tracks will be spoiled their sled track.In chapter fourteen it didn't rain there was a thunder storm and it spoiled their tracks. Not a single light was on. Not a single person was outside. Mr. Lundstorm also told Peter to not answer the door to anyone. The reason why this is happening is because the Nazi's are coming very close to town now. In chapter 7 Peter was getting very worried because he saw Uncle Victor came in and Peter was so worried that he could've been shot, and killed. In chapter 8 Peter and his friend Michael were going to the cave. Although the Nazi's are in town now. So Peter has to be more careful. Then they went skiing. After that, when they got to the cave, the cave was gone! In chapter 9 Peter was very confused because the cave wasn't where it was. Although the brick wall was still there. Which was very close. They also learned how to tie the sacks with bricks by Per Garson. Now, they will be able to get past the Nazi guards because they won't see them with the gold in each brick and won't think they're suspicious. In chapter ten Peter and Michael had to bring their heavy sleds through the forest to hide the bricks. Although when they got to the place where the snake and Uncle Victor usually are, they were nowhere to be seen. In chapter 12 the defense club found a house and addressed themselves so the owners knew it wasn't Nazi soldiers. They were very kind as well, and they were very surprised to hear that they were able to get past and trick the Nazi's. In chapter 13 almost every day in a week the defense club and other kids sled to the snake, that was found. Although later Per Garson said that it would rain a lot and mess up all the tracks to the snake. In chapter 14 Peter doubted that would happen. Which sadly actually did happen. It wasn't just raining though, it was a big thunderstorm! So Peter and the rest of the defense club had to stay home and couldn't do anything about the spoiled tracks. In chapter 15 there was all new snow that was so bright and like a sparkling white sheet that spread on almost everything you could see. A new disease has come to Riswyk. This strange new unnamed disease causes big red spots from head to toe, and very bad symptoms. So Peter had to help a doctor he knew, Dr. Aler, know more about this disease. In chapter 18 the defense club felt a little scared that someone was spying on them, and the snake. Although they kept more watch now. Then, several days after Helga thought she heard something. She told Peter, but he said not to worry about it. After that, he found out that Helga was right that someone was following them and who it was. The person was a Nazi soldier! In chapter 19 Peter was very, very, very angry. The Nazi's knew all along what they were doing. Although, they don't know that the bricks the defense club had gold in it. They still think the kids are acting suspicious. So he made up a new plan, and Mrs. Lundstorm came to help them this time. After that, Peter's dad left at the same time for several days, but Peter ignored those two weird things that day. The second chapter was about money. Peter's dad was on the phone and he heard that his dad had 40 million kroner in the bank! ($9,000,000 in America). In the third chapter everyone was getting very scared because the town is now building air-raid shelters in the town. Which means the Nazi's are coming. Then Peter thought that they were coming to get the 40 million kroner from the bank. In the fourth chapter Peter was woken up early by his father. He asked if the Nazi's came yet, but they didn't. So Peter and his father went skiing. Then his father told Peter he had to hide all the kroner in a cave. In chapter five Peter and his father went to his father's friend Ole's place to ask where the nearest cave was. Although he never knew and thought there was a cave near. So they had to build a hard, sturdy wall made of brick. As well with another wall made of stone so it won't get wet in heavy rain. He also said he'd come back if there was still trouble. Then a few minutes later a Nazi soldier was behind them! In chapter 23 Uncle Victor surprisingly came out from the middle of nowhere and immediately grabbed the soldier, covered his mouth with tape, and pinned him down. In chapter 24 they had a whole interrogation with this Nazi soldier. Although, this soldier claimed that he was a prisoner and the Nazi's forced him to work for them. When they asked him why he told them that his country was invaded and all his people died, or got taken. Or else he would be killed to if he refused to work for them. In chapter 25 the defense club had no idea what to do with this man.
