First, I showed the tea bag to the children. They each had a go at smelling it and they said:
GM: Ewww! I don't like tea.
TN: I like it! Can I have some?
QL: I don't like it!
AP: What's this?
KM: Ms Precious, I like it! It smells good!
I then introduced the teapot and the cup. GM had a go at putting the tea bag in the pot; the rest of the children poured water into the teapot. We then shared the tea and surprisingly, all the children liked it!

Ms Gurvinder was very kind in lending us her tea set and even shared her decaffeinated tea!

KM: Where get this one?
P: Well let's play a guessing game. I got it from one of the teachers here in the classroom and she is from England. Who do you think is she?

The children immediately responded, "Ms Gurvinder!"
I encouraged the children to speak to Ms Gurvinder (who was seated at the other end of the room) and ask where she got her teabags from.
-where do you think Ms Gurvinder got her teabags from?
-do you think she got these from Vietnam?
-Maybe Malaysia?
-Japan?
-Could you go and ask Ms Gurvinder please! (and they did!)

The children made many guesses and I had to write it all quickly on a big sheet of paper.
We ended our tea time by asking the children if they would like to try and know more about teas from other countries.
