Title of Topic: How Can You Change Somebody's Opinion?

Especially if they already have an opinion.
We all like to think that information or indisputable studies would convince us in an argument, but study after study shows that when certain facts don't conform to our beliefs, our brains are happy to disregard or simply rationalize them away.
In one study, scientists asked people if they believed in man-made climate change,
and then categorized them as either believers or deniers.
As a result, we can hardly tell where our own understanding ends and another begins.
Ultimately, strong beliefs don't actually come from a deep understanding.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
Write your opinion about the main point / your critical review

Find the group that you're both parts of, and use that as a point of personal connection. Now, if you ever wanna challenge your own opinions, or become more aware of those opinions contrary to your own, then you should definitely check out the bubble.
It's a cool tool that first analyzes you and your interests through questions, pictures, and videos, and then helps you flex your mental muscles with some stuff that wouldn't normally be in your feed.
It's a really nice way to expose yourself to a broader view of the world online and it's completely free!

Reaction (50 words or more) :
What you have learned or the problems you have during extensive listening, how did you deal with the solve problem

I got a new insight about that we can change people's opinion.
I don't have a lot of problems with the speakers. Title of Topic: Optimists vs Pessimists
Website Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0bym512

Vocab Journaling

Summary (100 words or more) :
Summarize the main points in your own words

To be optimistic about a situation is to expect it to turn out in a good way. If you’re generally optimistic, you’re an optimist—you tend to look at things favorably. Pessimistic means the opposite: expecting a situation to turn out in a bad way or being a pessimist—always expecting the worst.

Optimistic, pessimistic, and their related words are all about different views of the same situation: being optimistic is seeing the glass as half full, and being pessimistic is seeing the glass as half empty.

Remember, an optimistic person expects good things to happen—maybe even an optimal outcome. A pessimistic person expects bad things to happen. The word pessimistic doesn’t have a nice, neat mnemonic to help you remember its meaning—which is exactly what a pessimistic person would expect.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
Write your opinion about the main point / your critical review

Whether you're an optimist or pessimist, the short answer is that there is inconclusive research about which trumps the other. Some studies have shown that optimism leads to greater longevity, while other studies have said the exact opposite — that pessimism preserves your health.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
What you have learned or the problems you have during extensive listening, how did you deal with the solve problem

I learned that an optimistic person approaches situations, including difficult situations, with a sense of hope for the future. An optimist believes that there is good to be found even in bad things.

I have a little difficulty listening because I'm still learning with a British accent. And the BBC is a British site with a British accent. but overall I really like the British accent.

Self-assessment
The speed was OK | YES |
The vocab was OK | YES |
The pronunciation was OK | YES |
This effect my listening skill | YES |
I think my listening skills are improved | YES |

Firstly, a hobby structures your time because you have to make time for the hobby.

Secondly, the hobby rejuvenates you when you lose yourself in focusing on the activity. Thirdly, it relieves stress from your daily life. Fourthly, you are more social as you meet people who do the same hobby, and you also become more interesting if you do more activities.

The sixth reason is the hobby’s effects on the brain. Your brain gets efficient as you do your hobby or learn new skills. The new skill turns on the brain’s neurons to make more connections; thus, you learn quicker and slow down aging. You also increase the material in the brain that keeps it working well.

Having a hobby can change your life in many ways!

Reaction (50 words or more) :
Write your opinion about the main point / your critical review

I agree that a hobby has a lot of benefits. Hobbies play a very important role in our lives. They occupy our minds when we are free and also make us happy. Hobbies are our escape from the real world, making us forget our worries. Moreover, they make our lives interesting and enjoyable. If we look at it, all our hobbies are very useful for us. They teach us a lot of things about different stuff. They also help in expanding our knowledge.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
What you have learned or the problems you have during extensive listening, how did you deal with the solve problem

I know the many benefits of hobbies and what are the benefits for the brain.
I already know my hobby.
I have a problem with speaker speed, how do I deal with it? Title of Topic: Children and screen

The guidelines overall echo what many parents have been saying for years.

Generally, children should move more, sit less and get enough quality sleep so that they grow up physically and mentally healthy. Children between the ages of 1 and 4 should spend at least three hours a day in a variety of physical activities, and infants less than 1-year-old should also be physically active several times a day.

The WHO says that kids between 2 and 4 years old should not spend more than an hour a day watching an electronic screen, and kids younger than that should not be looking at them at all.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
Write your opinion about the main point / your critical review

I think Excessive screen time may inhibit a child's ability to observe and experience the typical everyday activities they need to engage with in order to learn about the world, leading to a kind of “tunnel vision,” which can be detrimental to overall development.
In multiple studies, excessive screen time has been linked to school problems, anger, aggression, frustration, depression, and other emotional problems. Over-stimulation causes kids to have poor focus and depletes their mental energy, which often leads to explosive behavior.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
What you have learned or the problems you have during extensive listening, how did you deal with the solve problem

I got new insight into the dangers of exposure to cellphone screens for children. maybe it's dangerous for me too. for all ages spending too much time in front of the screen is a bad habit.
I don't have a lot of problems with the speakers.
