Surprisingly, Twitter is a wonderful tool to integrate into your classroom. It can be used in a vast number of ways. Instructors can use Twitter to inform parents and students on upcoming assignments and events, to post readings and videos, or engage their students in discussions. Educators can also use Twitter to share new ideas, concepts, stories, lesson plans, etc. with other educators around the world! How awesome! Below, I've attached a video explaining how to navigate through Twitter.

Like Twitter, blogs are a great resource to use in the classroom! Blogs can be used for students to create and share post as well as interact and reply to other students. This allows a gateway for students who may be introverted to have a voice and talk with their classmates, as well as share things they individually find interesting. Below is a link to a blogging site used by 8th grade students:

There are so many fellow teachers who use blogs to voice their opinions and concerns, share stories and lesson plans, and offer advice to other educators. The opportunities with blogs are endless! Subscribing and following along with other teachers only enhances teaching of your own. Below I've attached a link to a blogging site directed toward elementary teachers.

Google is a great way to create and send documents and forms to others. As an educator, an example of using Google could be to send a form to the guardians of your students which they can fill out and send back to you. Below Iv'e provided a link to Parent form I've created.

Google actually allows you the opportunity to create online quizzes for your students to take! I find the tool to be very beneficial as it provides students with a quick and easily accessible way to take a quiz. This tool is quick and easy to use. It also does the grading for you, saving you the time and effort of individually grading each quiz. Google quizzes also allows you to attach pictures and videos which you couldn't do the traditional way. Below I've attached a sample quiz to show how accessible they are to students.

Pinterest is a social network which allows you to share and comment on visual material, which could be photographs, sketches, videos or web pages. Like a virtual scrapbook, but very public, you can collate the items that you love. Pinterest boards can be a great way to collaborate with other teachers. You can share ideas, resources, videos, news articles, and images. You don’t have to be working in the same school, or even the same country, to be able to work on the same collection of resources. Below I've attached a screencast that will help you navigate through the site.
