It provides more jobs for locals as tour guides, naturalists, restaurant and hotel staff, boat drivers, etc.

Extra tourists which come to see the marine animals gives a boost to the economy.

The biomedical research can be very expensive and hard to conduct in different areas.

The no-take zones will be detrimental to the biomedical industry- fish and other marine life if they cannot be examined in labs for research purposes because they will have to be taken from the habitats in order to examine them

Medicinal product development will decline because the organisms found in this region will not be allowed to be taken for research

Bioprospecting will have to be halted rendering projects involving such research to be useless unless new area is found

The biomedical industry will lose a lot of money as a major area will have access cut off to it due to the no-take zones

Drug production and research will need to halted or will face severe cutbacks and losses because of the restricted access

The more the people fall in love with sport fishing the more chance there is of more fishes being alive because sport fishing is all about catch and release.
-The bigger the industry grows, the greater benefits the fish have because people will want to maintain a good amount of fish to enjoy.
-Expanding the marine protected areas in this region can result in less tourism. Sport fishing is also known as recreational fishing which is done by many people who visit or live in the area. As the marine protected areas expand, there will be less land for recreational fishing which results in less fish in the area to catch. People may be unsure that MPA’s wouldn’t be like the type of fishes normal life in the open waters and the fishes may act differently in the MPA as when they were in open waters there were constant fishnets or frequent amount fishers taking shoals of fish and making their population count smaller and smaller every minute, if you think that MPA’s shouldn’t be made I can see why but I can change your mind. MPA’s can conserve and decrease the amount of endangered marine life such as common fishes to last few Sea Turtles and Bluefish Tuna. Having MPA’S can let the production of these endangered species increase and help these fishes increase so endangered is safe and scientific research is conducted.
Loss of habitats, the spread of disease, pollution, and unsustainable fishing practices are directly related to the actions of humans and recovery from these problems is rarely straightforward. Many marine species live in small, specific habitats while others require protection across their migration routes that cover vast areas and include breeding and feeding grounds. Marine protected areas (MPAs) have been designated in many places worldwide, which can help protect and restore threatened species, but MPAs are limited in size and therefore, limited to the marine life that inhabits those areas. This is why I would like to create a marine protected area for our community with a perspective of not only a scientist but also a resident.
