Food labels should be included, they provide us with warnings and help us stay away from certain foods. In food labels should be based on fact not fad the author states "Some would like to see such labels on foods because of their content of ingredients popularly considered "bad"... "warning": Drinking beverages with added sugar(s) contributes to obesity, diabetes, and tooth decay..." Nutritional food labels will help us maintain a healthy lifestyle without diseases like for example the ones mentioned above. This makes them vital. It's an advantage and not a disadvantage when people know how to use it. "Obviously we need food labels. We need to know what the product is in that multicolored can or box, and having the information on the nutritional content of the product can be helpful we used appropriately." The reason most people don't want food labels is because they don't use them. To prevent this from happening we need to educate people, we can learn a lot about food and what we are eating simply by looking at the back of a food item.

I believe that the food labels should be optional. In the article "Food labels: Do They Make a Difference for healthier eating?" on the back it says that, "more consumers primarily consulted labels for ingredients they were seeking 45% than for ingredients they were avoiding 31%". It means that they are basically not putting the other "31%" on the food labels which can be inaccurate and to know what goes in the food it is expensive and it can lead to expensive food item so it means that we are paying more for the "inaccurate" label.

Food labeling should be optional because not everyone takes their time to read the food labels when buying food or they don't even read it. "Only a little more than one-quarter (28 percent) say it's easy to find healthy foods, while 11 percent say it's difficult and the remainder report it is difficult and the remainder report it is only moderately easy." This means that there are people who find it difficult to understand the food labels so they don't even bother to look at them. Meanwhile, some people find it very useful for them. This is why I say that food labeling should be optional.

Ruth Kava says "Obviously, we need food labels. We need to know what the product is in that multicolored can or box." she also point out how labels are misleading saying things like "fresh" or "All Natural" More pros outweigh the misleading labels especially if its for health reasons it is beneficial for all parties to know what they are consuming whether it be for health reason or not.

When it comes to foods available for purchase, nutrition labeling should be mandatory. Nutrition labeling not only helps consumers, but helps producers as well as the Hudson Institute stated "lesser-evil processed foods account for more than 70% of sales growth" from the article "To Buy Or Sell" by Robert Vasburgh. This statement verifies that nutrition labels provided for goods such as baked chips ,which are somewhat healthier, cause an increase in wealth for businesses. Knowing that the "lesser-evil processed foods" are healthier than regular fatty foods, nutrition labels indicate whether this food should be consumed or not when compared to other foods that aren't as fatty, helping the consumer pick the right foods to eat and balance their diet.

Stated in "To Buy or Sell'- Robert Voshburg, " lessr-evil processed food account for more than 70% of sales growth..." This data displays the effect that food labels have on consumers and their willingness to purchase products, if it is proved to be healthy. The article also points out " The " nutrients-to-encourage" data on the front of the package is the feature that allows coustomers to make distinctions." The author states that labels help customers to identify the contents of their food. This is an atvantage because there are many people, who need this option due to dietary restrictions or to help aid in their treatent for a disease such as diabetes.

I say that because consumers would want to know what they are consuming. Specially people with strict diets. Such as diabetic people, they can have serious impact if the amount of glucose is not tracked. In the passage " Food labels should be based on fact not fad" it states '' their is another kind of label on consumer products-the warning label-that we're all familiar with on cigarettes packages and alcohol-containing- beverages concerning pregnant women." That's an example of how food labeling is beneficial not only for the sick people but for others too. In the article " Food labels should be on fact not fad" it states " (SSB) "warning drinking beverages with added sugar(s) contribute to obesity, diabetes, and tooth decay" this is one of the things that consumers would want to know about what their consuming and should be warned
