What is the significance of YUGO?
YUGO is an organization that stands for "you go." It is also an acronym for Youth Unlimited Gospel Outreach. A third reason to the organizations name is; YUGO means "yoke" in Spanish. Jesus says that "His yoke is easy and His burden is light," in Matthew 11:30.

Who founded YUGO? Who currently works/volunteers for YUGO?
Workers and volunteers at YUGO come from Canada, America, and Mexico. I am unable to find the founder, but YUGO was founded in 1965. Scott Wester is the CEO who moved from California to Florida, and now lives in Ensenada. Nathan Alpert is the President of YUGO, he moved around as a kid, being the son of missionaries, and now he also lives in Ensenada, Mexico.

What is YUGOs objective/mission?
YUGO have five core values at the base of their mission. Active supervision; striving for active team participation. Biblical emphasis; evangelism is a big part of the organization. Cultural sensitivity; operating in a manner that is respectful to the culture that YUGO serves in. Discipleship; modeled after Jesus. Excellence and innovation; will bring glory to God in everything the ministry does to share the gospel.

What strategies/programs/projects are YUGO ministries doing to reach their objective? How can you see the effectiveness?
Teams from Canada and America go to Mexico to build a house and change someones life by showing them the love of God. YUGO works with a number of churches in Mexico, and the pastor of the church chooses someone who they think meets the criteria. Then YUGO pairs the the family, with the group that signed up. The group of volunteers build the family a house and it gives the team the opportunity to share about Christ and strengthen their own faith. YUGO also works with churches and reaching out to the kids through various activities and working in orphanages.

Being a part of a group that went with YUGO to Ensenada, Mexico, I saw how the ministry has made an impact. When you enter the communities in Ensenada it doesn't take very long to see all the houses that YUGO have built. The communities are made up of a combination of houses and of garbage bags wrapped around posts. YUGO has built up so many communities, and they won't stop till all you see is houses as everyone's home. YUGOs houses are small when you compare them to ours, but they are sturdy and safer than what the families previously called home. 

How is YUGO funded? What evidence can be seen that their funding are effective and that people are being inspired to give?
YUGO is a registered charity in the U.S. and Canada, so when a donation is made to YUGO people from America and Canada can receive a tax receipt. There are YUGO offices in Canada and the U.S. so that's probably how the ministry does some fundraising. That's all the websites information on fundraising.

This video does a good job at inspiring people to want to make a donation. The YUGO website has a couple more stories of the people who went to serve in YUGO ministries, which can help you understand what YUGO does.

How can you get involved?
People can get involved by donating, getting a team together to build a house, an internship, or volunteering to work at YUGO. There are also additional ministry's that YUGO is a part of; the feeding program, and the prison ministry are more opportunities to get involved.

Additional pieces of information:
Language does not have to be a barrier. By playing with the kids, just spending time with them, you don't need to know Spanish to establish a connection with them. Hiring translators through YUGO can also come in handy to get your point across, to connection with the adults.

YUGO does a great job at taking care of you. Speaking form my experience, they have a morning chapel and an evening chapel. Their food is delicious,  and everyone at YUGO is very welcoming and try their best to make you feel at home. "We need to take care of ourselves, (volunteers) so we can take care of others."

What is the significance of The Hunger Project?
This is an organization that is fighting to stop hunger in third world countries.

Who is the founder and who works/ volunteers?
I was unable to find the exact founder, but Asa Skogstrom Feldt is the current president in the global office in new York. Before taking this position in 2014 she was the country director of the hunger project organization from 2004-2012. during this time she was able to grow the organization and substantially increase public awareness and revenue. Previously, Asa has 17 years of business experience and worked in and with foreign countries in the middle east and Africa. She was also part of founding and building women leaders, in places like Sweden and internationally. With all of this exposure she is able to handle the position of president very well.
The hunger project is all together lead by a Global board of directors; they hold meetings 3 times a year where they discuss  global hunger and poverty reduction, public policy, democracy building and business. There is also a leadership team that meets weekly. The people who are part of this group include the President and CEO, senior managers from all of the departments in The Hunger Project's Global Office, and a representative Country Director. The Country Director's are people from countries that The Hunger Project has been able to reach and their job's are to help create society-wide changes in their countries.
There are also opportunities for people from Canada and the US to volunteer through their programs.

What is their objective?
The Hunger is an organization that envisions " A world where every woman, man, and child leads a healthy, fulfilling life of self-reliance and dignity." Their mission is to end hunger and poverty in the world. They  have ten fundamental principles that they build their mission strategies off of.Human dignity,all human beings are born equal and therefore should be given the same rights; especially the right to food, work, health, and education. Gender equality, empowerment, leverage, in order to make large scale systematic changes, they asses the impact it will have on social/economic/political environment, and then determine the best action. Interconnectedness, that is treating considering people as global citizens of a global issue, rather than just a particular countries problem. sustainability, social transformation, changing the old fashion mindset, holistic approach, hunger is linked to a network of problems such as, decent work, health, education, in order to solve one problem we have to solve them all. decentralization, individuals and communities need to take ownership of local development. and lastly transformative leadership.

what strategies do they use to meet their objective and what is the evidence of their strategies success?
To end world Hunger they realize that Communities in Mexico must take charge of their own development. They have a process called " Gender-focused community-led development." This process has several elements that help make it work. How is this Organization funded and what is the evidence?
They have a Global Investors Group, where people commit to giving $416.00 a month or $13 a day to The Hunger Project. They also have a Joan Holmes Leadership Fund that is created to honor and bring forward leadership that will help to end world hunger. How con you get involved?
There is many ways to get involved with this ministry. From giving money to volunteering in the many countries that have been touched by The Hunger Project. People can join the Global Investor Group, or give to the Joan Holmes Leadership fund. People can volunteer individually or in groups and volunteering looks different for everyone so there are opportunities to volunteer at there offices in New York or in the third world countries. Our organizations purpose is to help families by offering them jobs, and providing a source of food for their families in Chiapas, Mexico. The significance of goin references the action of the people wanting a job and making a better life for themselves and their families. GECgoin is a catchy way of saying get going, motivating people to change.

Founders
This organization was founded by Dr.Elizabeth Malik and Dr. Rebekah Franco. We went on missions with different organizations like YUGO and we were inspired by the impact they have in the different communities within moved when we heard that there were organizations that regularly delivered water directly to homes. We thought about how difficult it is for them to get proper nutrition and wanted to make a difference. we gather volunteers from all over the world to help us provide and take of the families needs.

Importance
Dr. Malik and Dr. Franco have gone on multiple mission trips and really enjoyed making relationships and experiencing different cultures. After seeing the poverty in Mexico, we wanted to continue making a difference in these communities by supplying their needs. We believe that supplying families with a goat, chickens, eggs, and a job opportunity can truly turn lives around.

"Let us not love in word or talk, but in deed and in truth", 1 John 3:18. This Bible verse has been a motivator to love the people of Mexico, and to teach them about Jesus by showing them His love. Our organization gives us the opportunity to live out this verse.

Our mission
Our goal as missionaries is to help build up communities in Chiapas. By giving each home in the community's a goat, a chicken, eggs, and the chance to work with us to earn an income, we begin to create relationships. These relationships allow us to share Gods' word.

Strategies/Programs/Projects
Similar to how the water truck goes door to door, we go door to door delivering our animals to the families that sign up. We deliver two goats a year, a chicken/month, eggs/weekly. GECgoin has several bases located in Chiapas, Mexico. We operate on large farms.to raise these animals in the best conditions possible. The families that register to our delivery program also get the opportunity to get a job. This includes responsibilities like driving the delivery trucks to raising the animals on the farms.

Funding
Because we have grown up in Grunthal, Manitoba, we will be getting lots of support around our home town. GECgoin has a website that makes it easy to donate. We have a government grant. The Canadian government has recognized the need to Mexico, and they've been supporting us. YWAM is a Christian base school/ministry that has partnered up with us to support us financially, and by sending us volunteers.

People getting involved
Our website also explains that you can get involved by volunteering. All you have to do is pay for your flights, we have living accommodations and will provide you with three meals a day. We have people many people from Mexico working with us, as well as YWAM missionaries.

More info
we have partnered with online shopping sites such as wish and justfab, that will give 15% of the money you use to buy there clothes to our organization. By doing this people can shop product and things that they like while also giving to a good cause. We were inspired by an organization called The hunger Project that has a similar program.

The families that participate in are programs are also required as part of the program to go to chapel at least 2 times after they start the program, after that they have the option to come once every week. At chapel they are taught all about Jesus and given bibles to take home along with a devotional that they can do at home. We believe that only with Jesus it is possible to change lives.
