Have you heard the story of Tom. Tom was a trouble child, always causing trouble with his best friend, Edward. Tom and Edward were always making mischievous plans, and obviously this specific one took place on Halloween. So, now, on the day of Halloween, Tom and Edward were getting ready to go to the old grave yard. Tom went to Edwards house and from there they left. They had a plan, that included rakes, a pretty big garbage can, and some hard work. No one who knew Edward and Tom, even those who were close to them, could never guess what they were about to do. So, they got to work, they raked all the leaves of the grave yard to the side, they worked and worked. When Tom check his watch it was 11:00! They had left their houses at 9:00. It was almost 12:00, and everyone knew what happened on Halloween at 12:00, all the spirits come out. Edward and Tom sped up a little and started to throw everything in to the garbage. But, then something strange started to happen, the spirit were really coming out, Edward ran leaving Tom behind, Tom was just about to go, but then something started to pull him in he couldn't move! Someone came from behind him and smacked the ghost on the head. Tom didn't know who he was, the guy was a complete stranger, Tome wasn't thinking about that at that moment. He just wanted to go home, the guy asked him his address and then drove him to his house. Tom and Edward didn't know it, but that guy had been the graveyard caretaker, and he ha saw them clean up the yard, and as light came and Tom checked his mail, there

One thousand years ago, October wasn’t named the same as it was today. It was called something else. It was called Saltiras. It was only changed because of an unfortunate accident. About 1000 years ago, a kid was born into a ordinary family of shepherds. They farmed the grasslands for many hundreds of years. He was a fairly normal kid. However on the day before the Halloween we know, the boy went to the graveyard. He came back different from before. He started steadily becoming quieter and started talking less and less to people. He wasn’t particularly famous and didn’t have many good friends so many people didn’t notice his behavior. He, one day before his twentieth Halloween started acting more strange. He started begging to leave and that something was after him. The last thing he yelled before he grew silent was Saltiras. There were about 20 people who heard him yell the last part. Without fail since all of the, were young, they died when they got to 20 years old. People over the age of twenty were very rarely affected by it, but without fail, all people who heard of the word from people that had heard it from the original all died before the age of twenty. The word spread until almost everyone had heard it. It was also discovered that their offspring had the ability to kill if they said the word, but they wouldn’t die at the age of 20. People also checked the graveyard again, but all they could find was a severed finger, a long devilish inhuman finger, The name of the month was then changed to the name October to prevent people that heard it from the originals to spread it. It was also named October since it was previously the eight month until someone moved it. But now that I talked about it, Halloween was then established one day after the man’s death and his death day was called many different things depending on where people lived, but where he was from, they called it the devils day. Ps. It was called the devils day because they felt that the word Saltiras represented the devil from that day forth.

PPS. This is the most important piece of text in this document. To not die in case you hear these words from people first copy and paste this message and post it to 80 different sites. If you post it in 30 minutes or less, you’ll meet the love of your life and also win a million dollars the next time you buy a lottery ticket.

The Pumpkin Man

Every Halloween night in Sacramento, after all the trick or treaters stop trick or treating, one house in the city will be selected. One house will be selected by who is known as The Pumpkin Man. Whoever he selects on that night will know that he has selected them, because there will be a knock on their door and when they check who is there, all there is is a pumpkin with the words "don't check under the floor" carved on it. Most people here know that they don't check under the floor if the pumpkin man visits you, but this girl, didn't know.
About four years ago, my friend Carmen was visited by the pumpkin man, and she did not follow his rules. One cold Halloween night, Carmen received a knock on her door at around 2:00am. She received the pumpkin. Unluckily for her, she had not lived in the in the area for long, and had not heard about the pumpkin man. When she saw the pumpkin, she just thought it was some neighborhood kids pulling a prank or something, so she had just shrugged it off.
Later that night, she heard some weird noises coming from her room. She went into the room to check on it, not knowing what it was. When she got into the room, she still heard the creaking, and saw the floorboards in her house moving along with the sounds. She instantly knew that it was not a prank, and was about to get something to pull up the floor, but then she remembered the warning. The first other thing she thought to do was call the police.
When the police got to Carmen's house, she met them outside, and told them about what was going on. The police went inside, to check what Carmen was talking about. It was about fifteen minutes until the police got back out, and told her that the best advice they could give her was to spend the rest of the night at a near friend's, and wait until the morning. But Carmen was too freaked out, she told the officers to stay for five more minutes, then dashed inside. After five minutes, the officers heard a scream, and busted inside to see what had happened. What they found was Carmen's body, hanging from the ceiling by her wrists, with a pumpkin shoved on her head, and carved into it were the words "I told her not to look."

Me and all of my cousins were gathered around a bonfire outside on the eve of Halloween.I was 8,my cousins were,9,10,7,and 9.Before we gathered we were told not to go out by ourselves on Halloween and of course being the stubborn kids we were we didn't follow. We kept chanting and chanting that we wanted to go by ourselves, but continuously we were told no and that was the final answer. We still wanted to go out by ourselves until our grandma told us to all come over to her.She told us to sit down in front of her by the bonfire, while she was rocking on a La-z boy recliner. She told us this story about 5 kids just like us went by themselves on Halloween. They were specifically told not to or else they would get lost, but they never listened and they ran off when their parents weren't looking. It was fun for the first 30 minutes, they were having the time of their life and they felt like big kids.It was getting dark, about 9:45 so they've decided to head home, except they didn't know where they were. The youngest one started to cry and the oldest one had to carry him around and tell him to not worry, and that they shouldn't separate. They started to walk and caught sight of an old man in their mid forties said,

“Hello children are you lost? Would you like to call your parents?Come inside of my house.”

The oldest one said stuttering and pulling the four kids closer,”N..no ththank you.”

The oldest one made all of us hold each other's hands and to never let go.Again they bumped into the old man as if he was following them.He again said,

“Please come in your parents must be scared.”

“No please stop we are almost home already.”the oldest one said shaking.

“I SAID COME INTO MY HOUSE NOW!!” He said bolting towards the kids

The kids started to run but they couldn't run fast enough and they were taken and captured into the house and were never seen again. No one knows what happened to the kids, the police investigated and never found a trace of how they'd disappeared,as for the old man,no one knew who he was.But legend has it that the kids that disappeared haunt little kids trick or treating by themselves whispering into the ears,

“Watch out for the man.” And “ Please help us.”

Some even said that they saw to ghost if the oldest boy asking, have you seen our parents.

We were all so scared and from then on we agreed to stay with our parents because we were so scared.

A Dullahan is rumored to splash blood on you if you ever see it, and the dullahan only came out at night. Some people think that it’s just a hoax and that the legend was made up to keep the children from going outside at night. Although, some have said that they had seen it with their own two eyes.

Now let me tell what a dullahan actually is. A dullahan is actually a headless rider, much like a common legend told around halloween, The headless horseman, but the most common name for a dullahan is actually a headless fairy. The dullahan rides upon a horse and is most commonly a female, but male dullahans do exist. The legend is actually an Irish legend. Some people say that whenever the dullahan stops, a mortal dies.

Celty, from my favorite anime, is actually a dullahan.

Once there was a man that owned a farm, right in the center of two railroad tracks. Every morning he would wake up early to feed his horses. They would trot over to him and whinny happily. Because he lived between the train tracks, the man had to be very careful as to not get run over. Unfortunately, one morning, when it was still very dark out, the man was hit by a fast moving train and died. The next few days, the horses waited for their owner to come and feed them, but he never came. A couple of days after the funeral, a family member went to check on the horses. They assumed that the horses would have died after a month of not being fed, but there they were, eating a bale of hay. No one had been to the house sense the farmer had died so, the family member stayed the night to find out who had fed the horses. The next morning, another bale of hay was sitting where the late farmer had always left it. Some believe that the farmers ghost fed the horses, others believe that it was a neighbor that felt sorry for the poor animals, but what ever you might believe, the horses lived on

Jenna has never been big on superstition. That's what she told herself. It was around eleven thirty at night and she couldn't sleep, so she was killing time on her laptop, reading the news. Her children Anya and Kaden were upstairs peacefully sleeping, but she had a strange unsettled feeling she couldn't quite place.

She scrolled through headlines about trends and celebrities, until one caught her eye: Mysterious Deaths Plague San Francisco. She clicked on the title and skimmed the story, which told about eleven unexplained deaths over the last three days, all which happened at night, according to the witnesses. The victims did not die of natural causes, the article read, and Jenna twirled a strand of graying brown hair around her finger, all victims were found in a pool of their blood, appearing to be stabbed by some sort of weapon. Police have done DNA scans but haven't found a match, yet. Who are these killers? When will they strike next? Stay safe until our next update.

A chill ran down Jenna’s spine. Without thinking, she looked over her shoulder, but no one was there. She felt an unsettled feeling in the pit of her stomach. She shook it away. Tea, she thought, I'm going to make tea.

As the kettle hissed and rattled, Jenna locked the door, plugged her laptop into its charger, and shut the lights off. She grabbed the warm cup of chamomile tea and headed up the stairs. She quietly slid open the door to her children Kaden and Anya’s room to check on them as she did every night.

She walked to Anya’s bed first, and gave her a kiss on her forehead. “Goodnight, sweetheart.” She brushed back Anya’s blond hair from her forehead in a gentle way. Anya’s face was peaceful and still.

And then her eyes flew open.

Jenna stifled a scream, because Anya’s eyes were missing pupils and irises, they were simply white, devoid of expression or any thought. Like a robot, Anya jerked to a sitting position, then stood. Next to her, the same thing happened to Kaden. They moved in horrifying synchrony. “What- wha…” Jenna looked back and forth.

Then, at the same time, both kids pulled something out from behind their covers.

It was a knife. They stepped forward.

Jenna smiled weakly. Surely they weren't-

Anya smiled, showing sharp teeth and a sickly grin.

“It's been a pleasure, knowing you. I'm awfully sorry it's come to this, Jenna,” said Kaden in a hollow voice nothing like his own.

Jenna stepped back nervously. They stepped forward.

“What's going on? Children, loves-”

Anya twirled the knife in her hands. “Deepest regrets. But in the end, you're just another obstacle standing in out path.”

“You're not really going to- you're not… You can't… Please, tell me! What's going on here? Children, put away the knives; this isn't funny. Listen to me! Let's all just-”

Anya turned off the lights.

Jenna screamed.

The children laughed. “In the morning, they'll find your body. Another poor, poor victim. Just like the other eleven,” they chorused sadistically.

“Nooooooooooo-”

But Jenna’s scream was cut short.

The children crawled back into bed.

There was a man, who lived on a street and during Halloween, he never put up lights or have candy. Every Halloween, he had his lights off and every Halloween people
ignored him. He had a very sketchy house that no one ever went to. Everyone said it was haunted. One Halloween, a kid rang the mans doorbell to get more candy
but no one was there to answer. The man finally opened the door looking tired and annoyed and the kid askes him for candy. The man yells at the kid to scram and closed
the door on the kid. Every year it was like this, the old man rejected kids. One Halloween, the old man decided to go out shopping for some things. During that time, he
drove his car and went to the store. When he came back, he got out of his car and saw some people watching him. He quickly ran into his house and shut the door. He looks
out the window to see the people still there watching him. All night long they were there watching. That night, he never went to bed. The next morning, the people
were gone. On the next Halloween, the same thing happened and every year this happened and every year he didnt give out candy. On the tenth year, he didn't leave the
house but he heard noises. He lockes his room but the noises just kept getting louder. A kid rings his doorbell asking for candy and waits there for a minute. No
one came to the door and the kid left. Then the noises came back, louder and louder until he felt like it was right next to him. He feels a cold breath on his neck and
then a whisper. He couldnt make out any words because he was so scared. His knees went weak but he knew if he moved that he may die. He slowly turns around and the image
he saw was forever imprinted in his mind. He looks back, and saw candy everywhere. Then he saw a candy cane knife and that was the last thing he saw. A candy cane
knife cut him.

One year when it came time for everyone to start going to Toms pumpkin patch to pick the brightest roundest pumpkins, (he always had the best pumpkins in town) there was a new kid in town. He was a trouble maker, all the parents knew that, even his parents did. But that's didn't stop him. He told all the kids in town that Toms Pumpkin Patch was haunted, and that anyone found at his pumpkin patch would be haunted by ghosts for the rest of his life. When no one showed up to his pumpkin patch, he was confused. He didn't understand why no one was coming. He was always nice to the kids, and loved everyone. He had never hurt a single soul in his life, unless throwing mushy pumpkins away counts. The next year he made his patch even more extravagant than ever. Again, no one showed. This happened year after year, and it enraged him. He couldn't take it any more. He decided to stick his head in a pumpkin, crazy right? He thought it would attract people if he became scary, but no. He was walking in his pumpkin patch, with a pumpkin on his head, waiting for those delinquent boys to come to get a good scare. But no, he tripped on some pumpkins in front of him and since he couldn't see, he couldn't stop his fall. He fell straight on his neck and it broke. There Tom lay, dead with a pumpkin on his head. It is said that he came back to life by the "pumpkin spirits" to haunt the whole town, and kill anyone who dares to go to any other pumpkin patch except his. Also, it is told by "survivors" that he will steel the pumpkins right out of the kids hands and stock it on there head and push them over pumpkins, so they will have to live the same way as him. So, next time your going to a pumpkin patch, I would suggest going to Toms, unless you want to become his next victim.

Once, in the forest a group of four people were taking a camping trip. It was a perfect time, not being too hot or cold. There was no rain expected. They were going in a completely hidden place, nearly a mile off of the road. As they were driving toward the spot, They witnessed many signs that said "Danger! Beware..." For all the signs, nothing was shown after beware. They finally found a good spot to stay, and they set up camp.
They had two tents, two people in each. They put those up, and set up a barbecue and benches. They explored for a while and found a lake, trails, and rocky mountains in the area. There was nothing wrong with it, except one thing. It produced a weird vibe. There was just some kind of aura of fear that people who go near there today still feel. But they eventually went back.
The friends played music on their radio and were about to call it a night, but then the service cut out at around 12.They couldn't get it to work. They tried hitting it and changing the station, but all that played was a Christmas station, which was somehow running in October. They shut the radio off and went to their tents.
In the morning, the first friend in the second tent was gone. The friends originally thought nothing of it, and went to check the lake and the mountains. He was nowhere to be found. After realizing he would turn up eventually, they went back to the campsite and continued their day.
They more or less did the same things as the day before, but they also went fishing late at night. There was still no sign of the missing friend by 11: 50, and they began to try the radio again. It worked for ten minutes, until it once again cut out. The same friend went up and tried to fix the radio with a little violence; hitting it and dropping it on the ground. Then it turned to a heavy metal station. Like the night before, the friends just went to their tents.
Identically to the previous morning, the second friend in the second tent went missing with no signs of where he was. The two remaining friends began to get scared. Their two friends were nowhere. After looking in every possible place, they concluded that they were gone.
Freaked out, the two friends quickly packed their things and started for the car. But it was getting dark. They decided to set up one tent and take watch shifts throughout the night. They played the radio again, and at 12:00 sharp, there was static, and then western music. The friends did their shifts with no problem, a rifle in one hand and a knife in the other. But then the friend began to get drowsy. And he fell asleep. In the morning, when the friend woke up, there was no one there but him.
Beyond scared, the sole remaining friend grabbed the tent and ran to their car. He ran and ran and did not stop, until he saw something that made him scream at the top of his lungs.
Hanging above his car by the necks were his three friends. The one that went missing on the first night when the Christmas music came on was hanging from a candy cane, broken ornaments impaling his entire body.
The second friend, who disappeared after the heavy metal station came on, had his skin burned black like make up, hanging from a guitar with a strap, with punk spikes stabbing into his unmoving chest, arms, and upper legs.
The third, who had fallen asleep after the western music, was hanging from a bloody noose with the iconic six revolver bullets making holes in his chest.
The last remaining friend fell to his knees, having an actual heart attack. and then a figure, dressed in all black, came out of the car, and over to his fallen body. And the last thing the friend ever saw was him kneeling down and saying with a low, raspy voice,
"Now my friend, what were you listening to last night?"
Now and forever, those who dare ho near those woods, an still hear static from a radio, followed by an eternal, bloodcurdling scream.

Two years ago, on October 30th, two boys, both of the age seventeen, made a very dumb choice. These boys were named Jacob DelGato and Samuel Barnes, seniors at New Orleans high school, and the next day was Halloween. It was cold on this Friday morning and these two boys were best friends that met up at the front door of the school. When they met up, they began talking about a house on the end of the block in Sam’s neighborhood that had been abandoned for years. When Jacob was asking about it, Sam was saying that twenty years ago, it had an unusual fire that killed all the members of the house, and nobody found out what started it.

Although the story creeped out both boys, they decided to spend Halloween night in the house, to impress their friends. So when Halloween arrived the next day, the boys grabbed their sleeping bags and headed to the house on the corner.

The first few hours weren't that bad, and there weren't any trick-or-treaters, because all of the electricity was busted from the fire, causing it to look like no one was home. As it got darker, the number of kids outside increased, but by about 11:30, the trick-or-treaters were all gone. Then, there was a knock on the door. Jacob went to go and look outside the window, and saw a small girl, in a white dress, with her long, tangled hair draping over her face. He thought it was just a trick-or-treater, so he ignored her and went back into the kitchen.

Well, at least until it happened ten minutes later. This time, Sam answered the door, and once again, they ignored it. Every ten minutes there would be an unusual knock at the door, and it was ignored until it had happened twelve times. It was now 1:30am, and both boys were very annoyed with this girl, so they decided to prank her. One of the boys was going to open the door, while the other was going to throw dirt on her.

So on the thirteenth knock, Jacob opened the creaky door, to see the same girl. He invited her in, although she didn't say a word the entire time. Once the door was closed behind her, the girl in white unveiled her hair to reveal a face with no eyes; only a mouth full of shark-like teeth. Both boys were too scared to scream. The young girl let out a screech similar to nails on a chalkboard, and that was the last anyone ever heard or Samuel Barnes and Jacob DelGato to this day. The police searched the house, and found blood splattered all along the staircase, but when the blood was tested, it was blood belonging to some type of superhuman. Their bodies were never found, and anyone who goes inside the house is reported missing within the next few days.

The end

Sachi Goli
Period |||
Creative writing
Hairy Situation

My neighbor always decorates her front lawn with at least 5 jack-o-lanterns on Halloween, and never lets her daughter go trick-or-treating alone. They always have a light on somewhere in the house no matter what. I can't imagine the kinds of bills that's racking up!
I decided to ask her why she didn't just turn off the lights and save money. She told me a nerve wracking story.
In her previous neighborhood, there was a gorgeous young girl named Auburn. Her name and beauty came from her hair, which flowed to her waist. She was an independent girl, and liked to distance herself from adults, mainly because she didn't like their protection, so she constantly snuck out, or stayed out past her curfew.
One Halloween, she decided to go trick-or treating with only a few friends. They went house to house and collected great big bags of candy. When she didn't show up at curfew, her parents sighed in disappointment, but they weren't worried. When she didn't show up at all that night, they started to worry, but assumed that she'd stayed at a friend's house.
The next day, Auburn showed up on the doorstep, crying and..... Bald. Her head was round and smooth, no hair to be seen. Her parents immediately took her inside to explain, and soon were seen hurrying to the police department.
Auburn told the police officer of an elderly man who seemed unstable. He had grabbed her and before he could touch her friends, they had run off.
He pulled her into his van and drove her to his house, laughing while she was dragged into his bathroom. She had it in her mind of some very vulgar and cruel things, and what he did instead was just as scarring.
He tied her down to a chair and gagged her so her screams would be softer. When he left to get something, she shifted her chair so it hit the light switch and turned on the light. The man stumbled as the light hit him, groping around for the lights until they were switched off. He glared at Auburn, daring her to turn on the lights again, but she shrunk meekly and shut her eyes.
Her eyes popped open with surprise as her head felt lighter. She stared into the mirror and dropped in jaw in horror, her hair was chopped clean to her chin level. As if that wasn't bad enough, her grabbed a razor and warned her to stay still or she'd get hurt.
Scared out of her wits, Auburn stayed as still as she could while she sobbed. The man was shaving off her remaining hair. When her head was smooth, he took the long locks of hair he cut off and tied them together. He gazed at it in wonder and put it in a drawer. Before he closed it again, Auburn saw an entire stash of collected locks, of all different sizes, color and texture.
The man untied her feet, but kept her hands bound, and it did not take as much effort to bring a shocked girl into a car. He drove her to where he found her and dropped her off. Before he could speed away, he saw jack-o-lanterns in the yard next to them, and stared at them while walking slowly backward, then hightailed it back to wherever he came from.
Amber stood there for a while, before regaining her senses and crying herself home. It was still early in the morning, so early that the sun hadn't risen, but the night wasn't as dark as before.
Now Amber was shocked, but she was also pretty observant. She noticed his repulsion to jack-o-lanterns and lights And narrated this to the police officers and her parents. Eventually the entire neighborhood found out, and all houses started to keep their lights on in someway, including my neighbor, and cut their hair as short as they wanted it to be. The shortened hair was to reduce the risk of the old man coming again, but Amber had also seen short locks of hair in that drawer and knew that the old man would eventually get over his fears.
Now this wasn't a particularly scary story, but it had me worried. It was Halloween, and I had let my son go trick-or-treating with his friends. I drove home and nearly had a heart attack when I saw my son crouching against our door with his head shaved clean.

Have you heard of the Girl of the 13th?... She took my friend’s soul. I watched her die, BLOOD, Dripping from her forehead, BLOOD coming out of her eyes, BLOOD coming from the place where the Girl of the 13th bite her, a big circle around her stomach of BLOOD. Now my friend takes kids souls who are innocent, if you think you are safe you aren't. On October 13th go anywhere but your home, unless you want to be like my friend, with blood dripping from you forehead, eyes, and stomach, but whatever floats your boat. My friend she hides in the big city of Sacramento, California, USA, then at exactly 6:00 p.m sharp she heads toward the neighborhood where she died, luckily we lived 10 miles apart, but that's not the point. The girl of the 13th transferred her soul into my friend, since she was her first catch. On the 14th you see blood stained streets, almost like a murder just happened, oh Wait it did. She comes to your house exactly if you're making noise, not just any noise, sounds of fright. I can't tell her not to kill you but I can wish you good luck, try not to die.

THE END

Ghost boy on Halloween

One Halloween night I was about 14, I thought I was too old to go trick-or-treating so I decided to stay home that night and hand out candy. As the night grew late I started to get tired. The last of the trick-or-treaters came and right as I was about to put the candy away I heard a knock on the front door. I peeped through the peephole and saw a young boy standing there with a sheet over himself was to eyeholes cut out like a ghost. I gave a slight chuckle as I had never seen a costume like that before except for in the movies. As I approached the door I had an uneasy feeling about this particular child. I could not explain my fear, for it was irrational because he was only a kid. As hesitant as I was I open the door.

I expected a “trick-or-treat!” Or something along those lines but all he did was stand there with a blank stare towards me. I asked him what he was, but again, all he did was stand and stare. I reached towards the bowl, but to my surprise I didn't feel any candy. I told the kid I was sorry but I didn't have any candy, but all he did was stand there. I was scared then. We both stood there for about a minute when he reached out his hand and growled.

It shocked me. I shook my head and stuttered the words, “I-I'm s-sorry, we don't have any c-candy…”

The boy stood still staring deep into my eyes causing the greatest fear imaginable. He then grabs the bottom of his white hood and started pulling upwards as to expose his face. I had an eerie feeling but a strange curiosity. As the hood went over the boy's head and fell to the floor I gasped. I could not breath. I saw things that should not be seen. I felt things that didn't seem possible. I saw my death.

The boy put his hood back on and walked away. I had fallen to the ground and had no plans to get back up. Later that evening my family saw me lying on the front porch shaking vigorously, foaming from the mouth like a rabid dog. I was rushed to the hospital where they did many tests but could find nothing wrong with me. I went back home that night and could not sleep. I never handed out candy again, and the date August 17, 2024 still terrifies me to this day.

Urban Legends
There once was a little girl named Erica. Erica was a nine year old little girl, who was so excited to be celebrating her birthday with her long lost aunt, Vivian. Aunt Vivian was a 50 year old woman who everyone thought was dead. They found her body once at a gas station, but other times they found her dead body at a grocery store. They found her a few weeks ago, and brought her to her family.
During her time away, Vivian had a daughter. She has her eyes, and was very sweet. Her daughter died a few weeks before she turned 8, and it devastated Vivian. She spent the rest of her two years in hiding looking for the murder. She found nothing. The only thing she found was the body. The girl would be around Erica's age, and Vivian never got over the death of her daughter. The only thing they found was a brown, curly haired doll next to her body, that was not given to her by her mother.
It was around ten pm, and Erica finally finished eating cake, and getting admired by her family, so it was time to open presents. She received presents from her parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and friends. She got whole assortments of presents like cute shirts or dresses, to water guns. Aunt Vivian was the last person to give Erica her gift. It was in a box, wrapped in dirty, flowered print, wrapping paper. There was a yellow bow on the top, and a little card on the top saying "hope you enjoy, Aunt Vivian."
Before opening the box, Erica shook it around a bit, trying to see if she could tell what was inside. She got tired of shaking it, so she took the bow off, pulled off the wrapping paper, and inside the box was a little doll. She had brown curly hair, and baby blue eyes. Beaten up eyelashes, and a torn-up light pink cotton dress. She has a broken sunhat on, and a little dirty basket in her hand. Erica got a weird feeling because of this doll, but she did not want her aunt to think so, so she faked a smile. "I love this doll so much. It is beautiful." Erica said in her best acting voice. She gave her Aunt a kiss, and put the doll back in the box.
The party finally ended, so Erica said goodbye to all of her friends and family, and went upstairs to get ready for bed. Before she could make it to the stairs, Aunt Vivian put her old, cold, wrinkly hand on Erica's arm and said, "make sure you take good care of this doll, because everyone needs some love, even if they do not have a soul."
Confused with what Vivian said, Erica agreed and then headed upstairs. She put her doll on her night stand, giving no thought to it at all, and went to the bathroom to get ready for bed. Erica came back to her room, and when she went to check on the doll, it was gone. She turned around, and noticed it was in the bathroom. "Huh, I must have misplaced the doll in the bathroom." Erica thought. She then put the doll on her counter, knowing for sure that is where she placed it, and went to bed.
At around 1am, Erica heard a scratching noise. She woke up, and heard someone whisper, "you thing you can place me wherever you want and forget about me. Okay, now, everyone will forget about you. Hahahaha....." Frightened, Erica went out of her bed, and headed to her parents room to tell them what happened.
She could not. She could not move. She was stuck to her bed. Almost as if she were glued. "Help, Help me!" Erica cried, but no one answered. "Oh, I do not think your family can help you now," said the doll. Erica looked for where the doll was, but she could not find it. She then noticed, the doll was right behind her. "What do you mean my family cannot help me?!" Erica screamed. "I do not like that tone!" the doll demanded but in whisper. "And, I killed your family. If you think you can do anything now, you are sadly mistaken. I am not a regular doll. Lets just say I have a little secret. Now that that is cleared up," the doll said, now in an evil voice, "time for the fun part."
Before she could answer, the doll managed to grow nails, scratched up her chest, reached in it, and pulled out her heart. She chopped up the heart, releasing her soul from her body. The doll captured the soul, and gave it to her Aunt Vivian, who was there the entire time.
Now the aunt, with her daughters body, puts Erica's soul into the daughter's body. "Thank you for giving me a soul I can give to my daughter." Vivian said to the doll. With a snap of her fingers, the doll disappeared from existence. Vivian was not thinking though, because now her daughter had Erica's soul. Then, the doll came back. "You know how your daughter was my owner," the doll said. "Yes", Vivian said. "Well, I killed her. And now, I will kill you too." She reached into Vivian's chest and pulled out her heart. She than ate her soul, obtaining her thoughts. "Poor girl, wanting to save her daughter, you know, I find sentiment funny." she said to Erica/Vivian's daughter.
Now, if you ever see a doll with a torn up light pink dress and a girl with brown straight hair sitting together, I would suggest running. Who knows, they, might want another victim to take, and there is a good chance that you could be that next victim. And always know, treat your dolls right.

Halloween ghost

"This is so fun!" I said.

"Yeah...um it is, but I think we need to start heading in soon." She said looking around nervously.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing, it's just it's getting late and you know how dangerous it is to be around here late on Halloween."

"What are you talking about? Why is it so dangerous?"

She began to tell us the story but hadn't nervous tone, as if we wouldn't believe her and that we were in danger. "Ok, about 20 years ago a girl was ditched by her friends while trick or treating, she was so devastated she killed herself when she got home that night. If you stay out too late you'll see her ghost and she'll try to murder you as a way of seeking of revenge. It's said that she'll mistake groups of kids for her bullies and try to kill them."

"Yeah right," I said dismissing her childish thoughts, "Listen to yourself, ghosts aren't real, nothing bad could possibly happen, the worst thing that could happen is the next block passes out things like apples and pencils instead of candy."

My other friend chimed in, "Yeah, that sounds like some cliché movie, and there is still some room left in my bag for candy."

"Come on guys! I'm serious! My brother said that when he and his friends stayed out she tried to attack him but they got away just in time."

"It's just a stupid joke but if you are that worried just go home." I said rudely.

"Yeah," Dianne agreed.

"Fine, I will, but don't blame me when you're attacked by a ghost and no one will believe you just like you don't believe me," She said walking towards her house, "I'm just trying to protect you!"

My friend Diane and I continue trick or treating without Catherine and are having a great time when I suddenly got a chilled feeling. For a second I though it could be a ghost, but then tried to shake it off, knowing how absurd the idea was.

We went to a few more houses and my fear started to disappear when Diane told me she felt uneasy. I assured her nothing was wrong, but I was secretly freaking out inside. I am still not sure of whether I was trying to convince myself or her.

She told ourselves it was crazy and made fun at Catherine for believing in ghostsa d making fun of ourselves for even being slightly worried.

We were laughing as we headed up the next block as we continued to joke when I said sarcastically, "Yeah, I bet there is a ghost about to attack us right now!"

With that I began to head up the porch of the last house with its lights still on when I heard a blood curling scream.

Diane, who was just a few feet behind me, was on the street with blood covering her and acting as if she were prying hands form her throat, though their was no one touching her. I though it was some kind of prank and was about to grab her when I was pushed to the ground. I saw a knife handing in midair coming down to slash me apart, but their was no one holding the knife. I mangled to dodge the blade, but soon I felt as if someone had clasped their hands around my throat. I could see no one but I continued to violently kick, hoping it would somehow stop the invisible force. I kicked with all my might until I was free.

Then I got up and the ghostlike figure tormenting us was gone, Dianne was bloody and out of breath, but fine. We had mangled to pry the ghostlike spirit off us and ran to Catherine's house. When we got to Catherine she saw us running in a panic and immediately opened the door letting us in.

We promptly told her mother, but she didn't believe us. We tried to spread the word of what happened to us all across town but very few people believed us. All the parents thought we were crazy, we even found a few others claiming to have been victimized by the ghost but no one would listen.

We would try and show them our scars from her knife, but it seemed only attack survivors could see them, we don't know what kind of magic is at work here, but if you value your life don't stay out to late on Halloween. I know your parents will tell you we are liars, that we have no evidence, but trust me Catherine's brother, me, Diane, and others have experienced it, we were the few to survive, don't let yourself be one of the many who don't live. Parents are somehow blind and think the ghost killings are poisoned candy or hit and run accidents, but if you want to live, don't stay out late! I know it's hard to believe but if you stay out, it could cost you your life.

Little girl on DireLane

It was a beautiful morning on direlane A little girl was walking to the store with her mother for it was her birthday. The little girl looked around the toy store and couldn't find anything she wanted. When the little girl was about to walk out the store the little girl saw a Doll she fell in love with it “mommy I want this doll” the mother looked at it studying the doll very closely. Then with a sigh “alright put it on the counter” the girl gladly got it and rushed to the counter. The clerk looked at the family “you want this doll”? He asked in amazement “yes” the little girl said “alright” he gave to doll to the little girl and she went home with her mother. The little girl loved the doll she got it and put it in her bed. What the girl did know was is big letters on the back of the doll saying DON'T PAINT THE DOLLS NAILS RED!! Later that night when everyone went to sleep the girl got the red nail polish and painted the dolls nails red. When she finished she put the doll in a baby bed that she also got. It turned 2:00 in the morning and all of a sudden you can hear the doll singing “tick tock tick tock come and play with me tick tock tick tock I'll kill your family” the girl stood up and she ran into her parents room and there lay her parents dead with their necks cut open. The little girl ran into her room and heard it again “tick tock tick tock come and play with me tick tock tick tock I'll kill your family” “AHH” she got scared and ran into her brothers room he saw gone and she looked out the window and saw her brother hanging. The little girl ran and she saw the doll with a knife. “tick tock tick tock come and play with me tick tock tick tock I'll kill your family” she ran out the house and ran into the neighbors they purposely didn't open the door for they new what was happening for the man working at the store was there neighbor and the little girl died and she sits there and every Halloween on DireLane at 2:00 am you can hear the little girl singing “tick tock tick tock come and play with me tick tock tick tock I'll kill your family”. “AHHH” and sometimes if you listen you can hear the little girl screaming and yelling “ let me in plz let me in” while sobbing.

The lunch lady

When I was in elementary school, I never ate any type of meat from the school lunch because of a legend that was going around school since I was in first grade. Kids started saying that the lunch lady would catch rats and kill them, and use the meat for the chicken nuggets, patty burgers, and chicken strips. As a little kid this really scared me and was made easy to believe because the lunch lady was old and had scars on her face making her look really creepy. She also seemed pretty shady. Not only that, the food tasted awful. For five years in elementary school, I was traumatized by the lunch lady and avoided her as much as possible. That is, until by last few weeks in fifth grade. I noticed that our next door neighbors were moving out but I didn’t care much because the two kids that lived there were very rude and spoiled. A few days past by and a new moving trailer was parked. Instead of boxes being pulled out of the house, they were being pushed in. I thought about the people that were moving in and if there were any kids that were my age. A few weeks later, I Finlay got to see the person that had moved in. an old woman was crouching into her mini cooper. My heart flipped when the old lady spun around. She was my lunch lady. Surprisingly, she noticed me and waved. I didn’t wave back because I was too afraid. The next couple of weeks I would to my house as fast as I could until I felt I was safe. One day when I was busy doing my reading report, the doorbell rang. i didn’t bother to go open the door because I knew my parents would. I heard disturbing cries and heavy breathing coming from the doorway. I rushed down the stairs to see what was happening. The old lunch lady was at the doorway holding on to my mother’s dress to keep her from falling. I shrieked out in horror because I thought she was trying to do something to my mom. My dad called the ambulance and the lady was taken away. I found out two days later that she had died because of some kidney infection. When I got older, I also found out that the legend of the rat meat was not true. When I turned thirty one, a friend of mine told me about the lady and her home life. I found out that the scars were there on her face because she was in the middle of a terrible war when she was in her teens. She also told me that when she was twenty seven, she survived a car crash but her husband and baby had not survived. She also had no family to take care of her after the car crash and she was not educated so it was hard to find a job. A friend of hers got her into the cafeteria at age thirty four and she had been working as a lunch lady for twenty three years before dying at the hospital at age fifty four after the kidney infection. After learning about the terrible news, I felt bad for believing in that stupid legend and being so rude to her whenever we made contact. This story is a reminder for everyone to not assume things about someone until you know them and their background. I and a big body of students had thought of her as a creepy old lady that made school lunch out of dead rats when in reality, she was an old person who had survived many traumatic moments in her life who was trying to make a living out of working as a lunch lady. Before I died, I found out that the old lady was my grandma.

Why it's October

Do you know why October is called October? Probably only because of what historians tell you. Historians tell you that it’s October because it was used in the old roman calendar and then we put January and February on the front end of the calendar. But here’s why it’s really called October.

Long ago there was a country in the far east called Wentil almost nobody knew about it except for the people living there. In Wentil there was a young boy, now the boy's name is irrelevant, who was the son of a mad scientist. The boy’s father would perform tests on him. One of the tests made him age faster then most young boys. Another test made him immortal but nobody knew this at the time. After the death of his father the boy was grief stricken but he then went and lived with his friends. Then all his friends died, at a normal age of course. Then he lived many years after they had died and he became crazy because he realized that his father had accidently made him immortal. The boy, now a man, blamed his father for all of his problems.

So as the years went on the boy started to hate his father even more and more. So he decided to take his anger out on any father that crossed his path. But he wouldn’t do it on just any old day but he would do it on October 8 at 8:00 o’clock a.m. or p.m, and he would also only attack 8 fathers. So be warned fathers don’t go out at at 8:00 a.m. or p.m. for he will find you. That is why the month is called October.

Halloween

Halloween is well known as a family fun holiday in which you dress up in a scary costume and go trick or treating. However many families and individuals fail to examine the true symbols and origins of Halloween. Sums of money are spent on Halloween essentials that come in about 6 billion dollars annually. This holiday originated from the Celts about two-thousand years ago in ancient Ireland. The festival Samhain (sow-in) was celebrated by the Celts which was on october 31st. The Celts would leave sweets and treats to appease wicked spirits. When they get out of their houses they wear frightening masks so the evil spirits will mistaken them for one of them. Pope Boniface IV is told to have started the annual celebration of All Saints’ Day. They continued thinking that those who were of the deceased were out to hurt them and they believed that they were honoring the dead, however the way they painted them were as if they were only alive and in their spirit form to hurt everyone. In the 19th Century Irish and Scottish immigrants who moved to America brought their rituals of Samhain/All Saints’ Day. In America this dark celebration was twisted into being something that was family-friendly. Many families dress their little babies who are just learning to walk as little ladybugs or fairies and then when they are toddlers they are cute ghost and when they get older it goes on from vampires to killers or murderers. The progress of Halloween has become great because of the decline to look into the real meanings of the dark and frightening Halloween. It is simple to understand that Halloween really isn’t all fun and games.
