<title>When a few years ago I started to get close to CLIL, honestly I had not I was not fully aware of what I had undertaken. Initially, in fact, I was quite moved by the desire to refresh and improve my English, without thinking convincingly about adopting the CLIL methodology in my classes.

<title>However, now things are changing. Thanks to the course we are attending, I reached a more significant awareness of what CLIL represents and I realize that it could be an important opportunity for me and my students. In fact, CLIL can make teaching more engaging and learning more participated.
In essence, CLIL is for me a concrete opportunity to change the way of teaching from a transmissive paradigm to a constructivist one. </title>

<title>With CLIL I can contribute more to promote skills, instead of only deliver content.
Surely, the content is important to me and from content I am going to start in designing my lesson. </title>

<title>But, as we have learned studying the theory of 4C’s, CLIL is an opportunity to promote different skills at the same time: Communication must also play a fundamental role. Here it is what I think CLIL mainly is: try to communicate on significative topics, which helps students to grow both in terms of cultural knowledge and of language ability. So, content and communication go together.</title>

<title>Finally, I think we should operate to promote the last C, too. I like to think at the last C not only in the meaning of Culture, but also as Citizenship. CLIL methodology is a concrete opportunity to reflect on the issues of citizenship, to increase the sense of community and to deal with diversity in a respectful way.

<title>Not only content, but skills: communication, team group, educational activities, reflection, metacognition. All this allows students to build better relationships with themselves and with the others and to develop the “formae mentis” that Gardner calls intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence.
