My role for our studio project was lighting director. I researched my role heavily using various sources such as ScreenSkills and Indeed which helped to develop my studio lighting skills. I completed a lighting plot and lighting notes which can be found on the HND 2B - Glasgow 850 Studio Production Notes Padlet. I collaborated with the director by asking him where he would like the guests and presenter to be seated on stage so I could make the appropriate lighting choices, such as the position of the key lights.

On the 8th November we had our first studio rehearsal which went well. I got familiar with the lighting equipment and how to set the lighting ques for the show. I had 3 different lighting cues; lighting rising up, lighting on, and lighting fading as the studio finishes and the credits roll. I started to implement some of the creative decisions I came up with when I was making my lighting plot, such as making the uplighters pink as pink is the same colour of the Glasgow 850 logo. I also started to implement some new creative decisions, like keeping the pink uplighters on throughout the entire show. The key and fill lights started to rise and fade during the start and end of the production but the pink lighters stayed consistent throughout. I thought this was a good creative decision and made the production look more polished and professional.
