* We use morning circles
* Having conversations with students and teaching them conversation skills is important at a young age and can carry over to them when they are older
*Teach conversational skills like looking at another person or making eye contact with them to show interest and respect
*Sometimes children need to role play situations in order to better understand how to handle big situations
*Older students need the time to build relationships because if it is not given they will nickel and dime you to get what they need
*Students need time to learn how to make decisions. They need to think for themselves and learn that it is okay to not follow the crowd.
*Offer opportunities for structured risk taking
*Sometimes students need to hear what other possible solutions other student might choose in the same situation and ponder how that may work for them
* Teachers can give a variety of choices to students that are actually choices that they would like to see happen.
