Students will be doing this as a whole group discussion led by the teacher with different ideas to consider. Students will then make their own shape house. This is where those that are ready to go will be able to take the idea and "run" while those that need extra support or encouragement will be able to be given more support and allow them more time to discuss what they want to do with the teacher.

Students will need to work as a class to talk, create, and explore the shape houses.  Students will then make their own shape house.

I will use starfall.com to help students see how different shapes can make different pictures.

The lesson length and engagement period for each day.  It will need to be spaced out over a much larger time span.

I wil show students different models and shapes that can be used to form different arrangements, then they will be given the freedom to explore and create on their own.

All students needs will be met as they will have the freedom to plan how many shapes that will use and what their house will look like. Some students may use the same shape, while others may use all different shapes.

Students will create their own house using the knowledge of shapes and how to put 2 shapes together to make a new shape.

Students need to know how to identify the basic shapes both 2d and 3d.

Shapes are all around us and we must know how to use them in a variety of different ways.
