Erikson First stage of development is definitely one of the most important as it shapes the way a child will start to view the world around them. It is very important that the child starts to trust his/her caregivers so that they start building that relationship between them. As I had conversations with my caregivers, my mom and dad told me that whenever I would cry, they would pick me up and carry me or play with me as well as read me a book to calm down. I was a very complicated baby because I would always be crying so it did take them a while to try to calm me down during this stage. We finally build a relationship where she would pick me up and I would stop crying.

Erikson, Second Stage of development focuses more on focusing more on being independent, doing more things on their own for example dressing up on their own even though clothes is mismatch, washing their own hands, going to the restroom alone, and having more control of their self's. Having a conversation with my parents I was told that I was one of these child's who loved to be independent and do things on my own. I would get up every morning and pick my own clothes and get dressed up, I would also serve my own cereal in the morning. I would also like to play on my own and just be very dependent of myself.

Erikson, third stage of development is definitely the psychological development that occurs during the preschool years between the ages 3 and 5. This is the stage where questions like" Am I good or bad" are asked. Kids who develop initiative are eager to try new activities and experiences without excessive fear of failure. During this stage of my development, I was a very active toddler from what my caregivers have told me. I would always run, play, break things and would always ask myself if I was bad for doing all these things. I would get in trouble and always wonder if I was doing something wrong, I always wanted to try new activities and explore new things around me.

Erikson, fourth stage of development focuses on the ages of five and twelve, this is the age where it is more focused on learning to read and write. At this stage kids are worried about getting an approval if they are doing something specific right. They start to build their confidence when doing things and focusing on doing the right thing to get approval. During this stage my caregiver (dad) would give me books in English to start trying to read. It was very difficult because during this time I was also learning to read Spanish since in my house Spanish is the first language. I really did not have anyone at this stage to help me guide through my reading and writing process learning two different languages. It was difficult stage when it came to learning new things, so I kind of just went on my own and learned what I could.

Identity vs. Role Confusion

Erikson, fifth stage of development focuses more on the teen ages 12 and 18. At this stage adolescents explore their independence and develop a sense of self. The major question asked at this stage is "Who am I?" According to Erikson, this is important to the process of forming a strong identity and developing a sense of direction in life. There's also a part where there's confusion because you are unsure where you fit in, you are also drifting from one to another, from one friendship or relationship to another which is all confusing at ones. You are also getting to build your own confidence and where to fit in, but most importantly building your own personality.
At this stage I was in coming from middle school entering my high school years, which everything wasn't just rainbows and colors because there was many ups and downs during this stage. I had a very complicated stage during these years because there was many things going on at home that just made me have a hard process at school during this time. There were confusions, I was shy and scared of making friends even though this was the time that it was the most important to be surrounded by people. It was the stage where I wanted to fit in and have friends and just be part of things, but my home life situations were blocking me as a person from being able to have that. For some people that's how it is and throughout the years we begin to start building that confidence that was never built during this stage.

Erikson, sixth stage of development focuses on building relationships, friendships and asking yourself "Will I be loved, or will I be alone?" It is the stage where you enter the adulthood and start to look for relationships to start building

Close romantic relationships

Deep, meaningful connections

Enduring connections with other people

Positive relationships with family and friends

Strong relationships

At this stage in my life, I was still in high school almost entering my college life. I was not too worried about a love life at that point until I met my husband about a year after I had finish high school. I was always a very shy person who never really reached out to others unless they reached out to me first which made it a little complicated for me to make friends or even build a relationship with someone else. During this stage that I am still at, I have gone a long way but most of it has to do with the kind of job that I have, being an Instructional Assistant just brings all the different kinds of experience that you have to learn to be able to build relationship with others. As to the love life I just had luck to meet someone on the other side of the world in a totally different country, which I would have never imagined. This is where I started building those relationships and friendships outside of my circle.

Erikson, seventh stage of development focuses on ages 40 and 65. In this stage a lot of important events happen if not already occurred. The major events that contribute to this stage (such as marriage, work, and child-rearing) can occur at any point during the broad span of middle adulthood. Work life is still active at this point until Retirment, also becoming a mentor to others and teaching what you have experienced in life. Alot of community service occurs during this time if wanted to volunteer at your local church, schools, and other community organizations. This could be a relaxing part of your life, or it could also be a very stressful time in your life.
