Since social media is now a platform that attracts many people, celebrities are also starting to ultilize it. Many verified celebrities accounts are starting to pop up and getting attention from their fans. Moreover, influencers also begin to appear on TV through talk shows and many gameshow programs as guests, thanks to how famous they are. In addition, some celebrities have been creating content like short videos in order to keep in touch with their fans. And, to be honest, influencers are not like what they used to be anymore, their content has become more and more diversed and of higher quality to the point that it is totally fine to call them “talented”. 

In the end, celebrities and influencers are not that different from each other. Both of them have great impact on our society and should them both be a good figure for other people then there is no problem whatsoever. As our society along with technologies keeps progressing even further, I think those two terms will experience even further changes. 

For instance, an A-list star like Keanu Reeves is an absolutely badass guy on-screen. But in contrast to what portrays him in movies, behind the camera is a normal man who has been through many ups and downs in his life. Actually, “normal” is not the right word we should use to describe him. He has no house, no car, people usually spot him on the street or in the subway; it is quite odd when you think about it. To explain for this, we should dig further into his past. Like a cruel joke of fate, tragedies come to him one after another. As if experiencing the death of his best friend was not enough, five years later he would go through another ordeal of his life. It was the unfortunate fate of his inborn daughter that almost shatter him apart, the first child that he and the love of his life Jennifer Syme had been hoping for died shortly after her birth. And that was not the last emotional hardship for Reeves. Several weeks after the death of his daughter, he and Syme broke up. And 18 months later, Syme was killed in a car in a car accident. 

But the loss has helped Reeves grow and, as he says, to understand the importance of making the most of life. “Much of my appreciation of life has come through loss”, he said. “Life is precious. It’s worthwhile”. With these words carved in his heart, Keanu has been helping many people. As a silent hero, only a few of Keanu good deeds were known to the public. But I belive, he doesn’t need acknowledgement, as what he wants is to spread happiness in this world. 

Celebrities in the end are just humans like us. Appearances will not define someone but the heart will. Please actually feel, not just look; as deep down we are all the same, within each of us is a beating heart filled with feelings.
