Subjects: 20 ESL learners of undergraduate level

Instruments: Five preliminary questions about their perception of their own English level and a survey asking them general grammar and vocabulary questions after watching at least five films/series

Objective: Provide an syntactic analysis of certain songs and compare the transcriptions between the L1 and L2

It is a corpus analysis that investigates the three most popular American songs in 2024 that have been translated to Spanish. The aim of the analysis is to find grammatical structures, lexical bundles ad collocations.

Instruments: The songs have been found in Spotify's list of the most played songs in the 2024 and have been translated by professional translators.

Corpus: The films "Australia" and "Forrest Gump" and some Kurtis Conner videos.

Subjects: 30 Spanish high school students (aged 16-18) learning English as a second language.

Instrument: Questionnaire with 10 questions related to their experience with the activity carried out in their English class with the previously mentioned films as the focus. E.g : "Which accent was easier to understand?"

Quantitative analysis through surveys to university students from different majors conveying ranks from 1 to 10 about several situations and how students feel when communicating in a foreing language.
