1 Difference: Denis and Fran got caught up in a firefight, but the men that they were fighting in eventually realized that they were friends and ended up helping them. Denis and Fran were allowed to ride a big cargo ship thanks to some publicity on a radio show, kind of like royal passage.
1 Difference: In MP's time, it wasn't a huge sprawling city. In the movie it states that Denis and Fran had to get special Visas to be able to get into the country, and they were the only foreigners there.
