I like when it is said  - Listening is not hearing and Talking is not speaking.
Words spoken cannot be taken back. 
The person who needs to speak and be heard needs to process his intention of being heard and what he listens. - If is intended to be said, if it is of good intention, of goodwill, such that it is meant to teach and for the audience to gain. That will be a head start to lead someone well. Most of the times, we thought we are collaborating with one another to make things work, but we are simply compromising or even competing with one another. Conflicts still arise and things don't get done. We can actually do so much more than that such as collaborating to achieve even greater things! Communication is after all the key to achieve success for us and more importantly, for our students.
