2. Whether and how the performance met the original aims/goals

3. Your own development (skills, knowledge, etc.)

4. Your understanding of the group or audience you were aiming the performance at

📝 How to Structure Your Evaluation

1. Introduction

• Briefly explain what the Performance Project was.

• State what the aims of the project were (e.g., to entertain, educate, raise awareness, etc.).

• Mention the target audience (e.g., school children, young adults, the local community, etc.).

Example: “The project was a devised performance aimed at raising awareness about mental health among teenagers. Our goal was to create an engaging and thought-provoking piece that would resonate with a school-aged audience.”

2. Evaluation of the Performance (Overall Effectiveness)

• Was the performance successful? Why or why not?

• What worked really well?

• What could have been better?

• Did the audience respond in the way you expected?

• Use specific examples from the performance to back this up.

“One of the most effective parts was the use of direct address, which helped the audience feel more involved. However, some scenes lacked clarity, which caused confusion about our message.”

3. Did It Meet the Aims?

• Go back to the original aims — did you achieve them?

• How do you know? (Audience feedback? Your own observations? Peer reviews?)

“Our main aim was to spark conversation about mental health. Based on audience feedback forms and a short Q&A after the show, it’s clear the piece encouraged reflection and discussion, especially among our target group.”
