An Interview with Guy Paul Morin

After being exonerated from the death of Christine Jessop, Guy Paul Morin was interviewed among other wrongfully convicted persons. He speaks of the hardship he faced during his time spent behind bars, for a crime he didn't commit. During the interview a distaste for the criminal justice system is evident, as time and time again it fails to find the truth and allows innocent people to be convicted. He thanks the improvement in science and the AIDWYC for working on his case that proved his innocence. Morin will never get over what happened to him nor will people forget his case but he remains positive for the future.

In this article, years after the body of Christine Jessop was found, the accused and convicted Morin was acquitted. It highlights several reasons for why Morin was the only suspect in this case. From police tunnel vision to unreliable in-custody informants and lack of proper forensic science technology as factors contributing to Morin's conviction.

A brief summary of the two trials that Guy Paul Morin went through. The video speaks of the death and community scare experienced after Christine went missing. Morin was placed under police supervision and after his first trial and acquittal of charges, the Crown was granted leave for a appeal. A new trial was ordered and more weight was given to the evidence. A witness came forward to discuss that he had seen a man around the time of the murder running out of the woods; yet, police gave no merit to this.

Documentary on the Morin Case

This Fifth Estate documentary on the case of Guy Paul Morin in the disappearing and murder of little Christine Jessop's is rather intriguing. During the video, interviews with members of the Jury that condemned Morin to jail sparked confusion as crucial evidence was withheld from them during the trial. Evidence of police tunnel vision, abuse of power, lost evidence, tampered with the crime scene and not following leads to other possible suspects calls for an inquiry. Christine's adopted brother was one possible suspect as he admitted that he and his friend use to have a sexual relationship with Christine. The documentary goes on to show how people in the community thought about Morin and also how his parents knew their son innocence. It is alarming that Morin's defense team had an expert state that Guy had a mental illness. In the end the body of Christine was exhumed and the new autopsy showed that the first medical examiner missed.
