You can apply for citizenship if you’ve lived in the UK for 5 years. 
It costs £1,330 to apply. You must also pay £19.20 to have your biometric information taken.

It is free to apply and the application is done online on gov.uk website. People need to apply for it before 30th of June 2021, but to qualify they had to live in the UK before 31st of December 2020.

  • EU citizens and any of their non-EU family members who arrived before 31 December 2020 
  • Who have been continuously resident in the UK for five years by the time of their application. 
  • Who were born in the UK but are not a British citizen. 
  • Who have lived in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for at least 6 months in any 12 month period for 5 years in a row. 
  • If you’re not an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, but your family member is (or is an eligible person of Northern Ireland).
