I Romani, proprio come i Greci, erano politeisti, adoravano molti dei a cui attribuivano poteri e competenze in ambiti diversi, le divinità romane e quelle greche spesso erano differenziate solo nel nome e rappresentavano le stesse entità con le identiche influenze sull'umanità.
