The ruling class looked clean, healthy, well put together while the working class was the opposite. We also noticed a lot of long focal lengths, dark colours, handheld camera, and fast-paced cutting which makes the movie look like some kind of newscast.

For example: Katniss, Primrose, Peeta, Gale, etc.

Life for the working class in the film is very strenuous and labour inducing. For example, Katniss, who provides food for herself and her family all on her own is shocked to even see a deer and spends presumably hours hunting it, which tells us how desperate she is.

In the film, we see the families basically living in poverty with no leader apart from the Capitol. The Capitol is a high royalty organization that poorly houses "volunteers" for a part in their show. There's no freedom and no access to technology, but the community must express loyalty and honour to their superiors.

In the reading it is also mentioned that the ruling class "determines the extent and the compass of an epoch". Another word for epoch is era and in the movie we see how the higher power criticized war and how for decades we used to kill in mass, and the thinkers of their society came up with The Hunger Games as a solution to world peace and forced their ideologies on the people.
