How do Arctic Foxes adapt to cold, harsh weather? Well, let me tell you! First of all, you need to know that Arctic Foxes live in very cold weather, they also can live in the Tundra, Alaska, Canada, Iceland, Greenland, and Russia! Now that you know where these Foxes can live, time to learn more about what they have to adapt to this environment!
They have several adaptions that allow them to survive. First, their muzzles, ears, and legs are also short, which can conserve heat. Their body shape also helps them with minimum surface area so less of their body is exposed with the cold air. They have really thick and deep fur to control their body temperatures. You also might wonder why they can walk on snow and ice. Well it is because they have thick fur on their paws so they can't hurt their paws walking on cold ice and snow. So when you think about how they can survive in cold weather, remember how every animal adapts to their environment.

Polar bears can survive in the cold because of two coats of fur and a thick layer of blubber which helps insulate the polar bear's body from the cold. Polar bears's paws are especially adapted for walking on the ice and swimming in the sea. The hairs and bumps of their feet provide traction, while webbing between their toes allows for effective swimming strokes.
