Marcel is a 23 year old graduate student from the local university. At 1:30 pm police headquarters received a phone call from Naomi Lee requesting a well being check on Newgard, because Marcel didn't show up for work without calling which is unlike him. According to Lee, after contacting Newgard's sister, Jenn, his roommate, and Cam. Lee called the police. At 1:45 pm a police officer was notified by a dispatcher about the well-being check on Newgard. The officer went to Newgard’s home to complete the well-being check to see if he was safe. At 2:00 pm When law enforcement arrived at Newgard’d house, they found Marcel face down on the floor of his garage. After a preliminary assessment Newgard was unresponsive and deemed dead. The officer on the scene called for medical help, who arrived and confirmed Newgard was dead. The officer at the scene called for more officers and the PLTW forensic laboratory to process the scene. We ran a polygraph for all of our people of interest. So far it seems like Jenn Newgard, Kay Litrell, and Naomi Lee seem to be telling the truth, but Cam Banks seems to be lying on question 5 and Aiden Santori seems to be lying because of his heart rate fluctuations. The fingerprints found on the baseball bat were runned but they match Marcel’s fingerprints. The hair found at the scene was tested but it is unclear who it belongs to because it does not match any of the other hair’s. The type of the blood that was found at the scene was type A. Which matches Marcel, Kay, and Jenn. Jenn says she last spoke to Marcel Friday night at 10:15 PM. Marcel called her on his way home from work. Jenn claims the call lasted about 20 minutes, and they argued about Jenn borrowing Marcel’s car. The next person is Cam Banks, Marcel's roommate. Cam says he last saw Marcel Friday afternoon at 3:30 before Marcel left for work, and Cam left town for the weekend to visit family. He and Marcel recently had an argument over Aiden. Aiden Santori, our next person of interest, Marcel’s new friend. Aiden says he last saw Marcel Friday afternoon at 3:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the Biotic Bistro restaurant, just before Marcel started his shift. Aiden and Marcel recently met and started hanging out a couple of weeks ago. Not much is known about Aiden. he doesn’t say much around others, and tends to come and go. Cam just recently caught Aiden going through one of the cabinets in the apartment he shares with Marcel. Our next person is Kay Litrell, Kay Litrell is Marcel’s coworker at the Biotic Bistro restaurant. Kay claims she last saw Marcel on Friday during their shift at the restaurant. They both clocked out at 10:00 p.m.. Kay accused Marcel of stealing her tips, and threatened to go to their manager. Our final person is Naomi Lee, Naomi Lee is Marcel’s supervisor at the Biotic Bistro restaurant.
Naomi last saw Marcel when he clocked out of his shift at 10:00 p.m. on Friday night. She contacted police when Marcel didn’t show for work, two shifts in a row Saturday night, and  Sunday morning. Naomi says she was aware Kay and Marcel didn’t get along, but she didn’t know a reason for it. She says Marcel was a good employee and customers seemed to like him.
