As a sophomore two of the classes I think you should take in your freshman year is definitely PE and health. I think its good to get out of the way so you don't have to worry about them later.

As someone in AVID I think you should join AVID because it helps you get through high school way easier! the class is a 10/10!

As a current sophomore, I strongly encourage to take a language as soon as you can. I would go with Spanish as a language. It’s a lot of fun!!

Now as a sophomore, I would recommend taking an AP class this year. It will make you stand out to Colleges, especially starting in your sophomore year.

As someone in Algebra 2, you should definitely take this class right after freshman year. That way it’s still fresh in your mind from last year of algebra 1!

Taking PE freshman year was the best decision. It really gets it over with so the next years of high school can be filled with more academy classes!

i take AVID and i rate it a 7/10 since it helps me better prepare for my future but i dont like the workload like TRF's every week

I like all my classes. The teachers make the content understandable. The course work is very good and if students need help, they make study groups to do so.

So far this year I have taken:

US History - 10/10, easy class just pay attention and take notes.
AP Computer Science Principles - 10/10, I might be a little biased because I love computer science, but if you're really interested in a career in computer science I recommend it.
AVID/College Prep - 10/10, take it, it's a lot of work but it really helps when building skills like looking for scholarships, finding the right college for you, etc.
AP Environmental Science - 8/10, I only give this an 8/10 because of my own problems with procrastination, but if you're a hardworking student (Which I know all of you are) who takes notes, you should take this class.
AP English Language/Composition - 10/10, rigorous coursework and a lot of it, but worth it to learn useful writing skills you can use in college.
Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus - 10/10, If you like math and want to start to take a peek at some college level math, this class is a very good option. It also sets you up to take AP Calculus in your senior year.

Overall, in your Junior year you should start taking classes that will help you get a head start in college or just to prepare you for college in general, like AVID. Also I recommend to start looking into how to apply for scholarships, applying for them is a good pastime if you have nothing to do.
