Panels- The panels do not particularly have a set distance between them, as the second panel overlaps the first. Two of the panels are bound by a framework.
Gutter-Calvin and Hobbs appear to have gone back inside and changed his clothes, showcasing how we tend to prefer comfort over change, both the mentality and physicality as well. Since all of us know what a life in the third panel constitutes of, the transition amongst panels is not shown.
Emanata- The lines drawn along the television set, telephone and speaker appear to jumping and creating different types of sounds; with an idea of grabbing, or at least keeping, Calvin's attention
Camera Angle- It is central to the message of the comic strip itself. In the first panel the dark night sky is centralised, with the negative space filled with darkness and the stars. This angle corners the two main characters, showcasing the scale of humanity; how minuscule we are compared to the allure of universe.
Which changes in the next two panels as the camera is now focused on the characters, and in the third panel it centralises the characters. The tables have been turned, now those appliances are the minuscule beings.
Punchline- The fact that humans will never leave their comfort zones, and will try to only approach problems that they created themselves. Hobbes posture with his hands on the couch make him appear as if he has given up, not only on Calvin, but humanity itself. Maybe because he finally realised the goal of humans; to centralise oneself.

Calvin is shown with a remote controller, this is meant to be a way for Calvin to overcome the way he felt before, the lack of control he experienced. Calvin armed with the remote feels more in control of his life than he did outside, where he was given a reality check.
