This program is nationwide with many local chapters which serve a wide number of schools across the country. It is dedicated to providing services to students with intellectual disabilities to increase their integration with their peers to promote social inclusion. For guardians this is a broad program which can help connect them to other families and community programs that will give their students opportunities to develop social skills, self-confidence, self-advocacy and meaningful relationships with students their age with whom they may relate to in a manner that adults in their lives may not.

Contact Info:
Address: 100 Southeast Second St, Suite 2200 Miami, FL 33131

Phone number: 1-800-89 BUDDY (28339)

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nationwide program that serves at-risk and low-performing students with a focus on under performing schools. For many guardians who live near or below the poverty line, education is especially of critical importance however a variety of social, economic and political factors hinder the ability for students to have equitable education. This Program can help to supplement a lack of proper support at an institutional level through the use of mentors that provide one-on-one tutoring, homework support, out of class extended learning and work on bridging individual students skill gaps.

Contact Info:

Address: 805 East Bloomingdale Ave., #744 Brandon, FL 33511

Office Number: (813) 621-1188
