Harriet Strong overcame her newfound obstacles by planting grass between the seeds and designed elaborate irrigation and dam systems to take advantage of storm water and properly water her thirsty walnuts. These inventions allowed walnut production to thrive in the dry soil of California where it had only suffered before ("A strong will" USTPO, Dec, 2019).

Finding the stone age wheel ineffective for farming in wet soil and soft land, Benjamin set out to develop a system of tracs that automatically lay one in front of the other and distribute weight called the continuous track. Today these tracks are a product of Caterpillar which, as you may know is way more than agriculture.
