Some ways you or I can be an upstander is if we ever see a person being bullied then we should stand up to the bully and tell a trusted adult. Being kind is a cycle and is passed around as you do it. Being kind can change peoples life and might even make a bully think "wow maybe I should be kind to others :)". Because its not hard to be kind, all you have to do is commit!

Some different ways you can be a upstander are standing up for people even when you didn't do anything. Sometimes even when it is not easy or we didn't do anything we can still do the right thing and help the person being bullied. And when were ever in the same situation where a bully makes fun of you or calls you names you can just ignore them because then you would be giving the bully what it wants being able to see you get mad. And if this bugs you you can get up and tell the bully " hey please don't call me names its not nice and l bet you wouldn't like it if i did it to you". And finally if the bully physically hurts you you should take serious action and tell a teacher or just talk to the bully and ask "why did you do that?", and "was it by accident or on purpose?''. And that's a few good ways to be an upstander.

One time me and my "friends" went to my "friends" backyard and my little brother, Bear, wanted to come. He brought a stuffed sloth that he really liked. My "friends" took his sloth and hid it from him and ran away with it and things like that and he is only in preschool so he could not get it back. I felt really bad so i said, "we are leaving so you better give it back." They said fine and gave it back. Then we left because they are mean. p.s.I don't really like them anymore

although i barely have any experience being bullied there is still one time that still makes me grit my teeth, i was in 3rd grade (i think) i decided to try riding the bus i had some friends on the bus (i will abbreviate their names for privacy and ease) friend 1 a old classmate in 1st grade i think (1) and friend 2 a future classmate the year after and a pretty nice guy although he had to move this year (2) we played and had fun together friend 2 lived a little bit away from me so we usually had more time to talk also the bus driver barely cared what the kids did and was at times kind of strict at times making the back of the bus a madhouse anyway we start at the back of the bus...
i turn my head to look down the isle
(bully) hey kid your ugly
note this was coming from a guy with freckles, hair dyed, and skinny
(me) kind of forgot what i said so we will just say "shut up!"
(bully) continues to mock me for my face, saying that when i was born my mother thought i was ugly and so on
(friend 2) says a guy whos ugly!
this goes on in a barrage of the bully and his gang sticking the middle finger at me and me doing the middle finger back
(friend 1) just ignore him (which would have been good advice if his tone didn't feel like he only cared about his popularity)
me and friend 2 maked reasonable arguments while the bully and his friend just made things that didn't make sense

my stop comes and i get off being mad and sad i tell my mom what happened while crying

When I was in 4th grade I had a friend that would be really mean to me in front of my friends, but would be nice at aftercare. she thought it was cool that she could accomplish that, my other friend thought that wasn't very nice so one day when we were playing on the swings the mean girl came over, and my friend was like "If your gonna be mean to my friend, just don't." Then the mean girl looked at me and said "Well it doesn't seem that she is gonna do anything about it, does it?" I looked at her and said "Be a friend not a bully." at the end of the day I told my parents about what happened. The next day when I went back to school I saw a girl crying, I went up to her and asked what was wrong and she told me "Your friend stole my backpack." I told her that she is not my friend and that we can go tell the teacher and ask her to give it back. I have gotten bullied many times, so here is some advice for you all, Don't break the good vibes, make them stronger.

When I was at my friends house, we were playing in her backyard and her brother came outside to get something (Her brother) What are you doing?(Me) We are playing, is that disturbing you? then he said Quit being babies and play correctly. we went to tell on him He got in trouble and then he pushed us on the ground. And when my mom came to pick me up I realized I forgot the friendship bracelet she made me. we went back inside the house to find it and I saw my friend brother holding it. He threw it over the fence and I started crying. My friend said she made another bracelet cause she saw what happened. And after her brother saw me crying he stopped bullying us. P.S, he is in high school, and me and my friend were in kindergarden.

Once, in Nichols park, a girl was on a zipline & a boy wanted to get on & he'd been waiting for ages, but she didn't give him a turn. When I came to play on the zipline I asked him what happened, & he told me what happened & I walked straight to the girl that was hogging the swing & I said, "Don't hog the swing & let everyone have a turn!", & she didn't say anything but got off. A lot of times, people being bullied tell a trusted adult, which is good, but sometime choose to take it upon their own hands. Some reasons why you might not want to deal this out yourself: You can cause the bully to be sad, Which isn't right because it makes more than one person sad. You can have an enemy, Which is also bad because you'd rather be friends with everyone, right? What you should do instead is: Ask the bully to start over as friends. If the bully declines, then that's when you tell a trusted adult. Another thing you can do is kill them with kindness. Not a lot of people wanna do this because they want "Revenge." "Why should I kill someone with kindness?" You might ask. There's actually a few good reasons on why you should. Like I said, it's better than making more than one person sad. It also leaves them feeling, well, good. When you kill someone with kindness, You respond to the bully with " Thanks! " Or, " I like your hair! " This gives the bully a bit of a positive vibe, and they'll feel better about themselves.

The overall lesson of this paragraph is to never be rude to the bully back.
