This week, I learned about the topic of adab seeking in knowledge and al-quran as the book guidance It was very enjoyable because I discovered many things I did not know before. I am grateful to my facilitator for providing such valuable lectures and to my study group friends for sharing a lot of knowledge that I had never heard before.Here, I would like to conclude the topic I studied in the first week of the study group.

1. Adab in seeking knowledge

It involves treating teachers with great respect and gratitude. This includes listening attentively, valuing their time, and being mindful of their advice.

A learner should approach knowledge with humility, recognizing that there is always more to learn. This means being open to correction and willing to admit what one does not know.

2. Al - quran as the book of the guidance

The Quran, considered the holy book of Islam, is revered as a comprehensive guide for all aspects of life. Muslims believe it is the literal word of God (Allah) as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) over 23 years.The Quran is believed to be the finaluidance revelation from God, following earlier scriptures like the Torah and the Bible. It serves as a timeless guide for humanity, providing spiritual, moral, and practical

   The Five Pillars of Islam are the core beliefs and practices that shape a Muslim's faith and actions.The first one is Shahada (Faith):Second,Salah (Prayer) ,ThirdZakat (Charity).Fourth,Sawm (Fasting): sunset.Lastly,Hajj (Pilgrimage)These pillars are central to a Muslim's faith and practice, guiding their actions and spiritual life.

   The Pillars of Iman (faith) are the fundamental beliefs that every Muslim is required to hold. They outline the core tenets of faith in Islam and are essential for a complete understanding and practice of the religion. The Six Pillars of Iman are:

   Firstly,Belief in Allah (God) Second,Belief in Angels.Thirdly,Belief in the Prophets. Fourthly,Belief in the Holy Books. Fifthly,Belief in the Day of Judgment. Lastly,Belief in Divine Decree (Qadar).These pillars form the foundation of a Muslim's faith and guide their understanding of their relationship with Allah and the world.

Ihsan is an Arabic term that translates to "excellence" or "perfection," and it holds a significant place in Islamic thought. It is often understood as striving to do good and to seek the best in one's actions, embodying a higher standard of morality and ethics in everyday life

Relation to Islamic Eschatology :

1. Interpersonal Relationships: The practice of ihsan extends beyond personal piety; it encompasses how one treats others. This aspect is vital in establishing a just and compassionate society, which aligns with the Islamic vision of a harmonious community in this life and is rewarded in the hereafter.

2. Hope and Fear: Ihsan balances the dual concepts of hope (in Allah’s mercy) and fear (of His wrath). Believers are encouraged to strive for excellence, not out of despair but with the hope of achieving a place in paradise.

In summary, ihsan is not just a personal virtue but a comprehensive approach to life that influences both individual conduct and societal norms. Its significance in Islamic eschatology reinforces the idea that striving for excellence in faith and actions leads to divine reward in the hereafter.

As a student, I wish to immerse myself fully in the rich heritage of Islamic revealed knowledge. May I be granted the wisdom to appreciate the depth of the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). I hope to understand not only the words but also the spirit behind them, allowing them to guide my actions and character.

I reflect on the importance of knowledge in Islam, as it is a means to strengthen my faith and my relationship with Allah. The acquisition of hikmah (wisdom) involves cultivating positive values such as knowledge, patience, reflection, and ethical behavior. In Islamic thought, hikmah is often associated with deep understanding, sound judgment, and the ability to apply knowledge in a just and beneficial manner.

To acquire hikmah, one must:

1. Seek Knowledge – Learning from various sources, especially divine revelation (Qur’an and Hadith), philosophy, and life experiences.

2. Practice Reflection – Thinking critically about actions, consequences, and moral responsibilities.

3. Apply Ethical Principles – Acting with justice, compassion, and sincerity in daily life

To sum up , hikmah is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about applying it in a way that leads to goodness and righteousness.

Reasons Why Ibadah Leads to Hikmah

1. Strengthens Taqwa (God-consciousness)

• Ibadah instills a sense of accountability and mindfulness of Allah, leading to wiser decision-making in life.

2. Teaches Discipline and Patience

   • Regular worship (e.g., Salah, fasting) requires consistency and self-restraint, cultivating patience and resilience

   
   

   Sources of Hikmah from Ibadah

1. Salah (Prayer)

   • Teaches discipline, humility, and focus.

2. Sawm (Fasting)

   • Develops self-control and empathy, fostering wisdom in managing desires and understanding the struggles of others.

3. Zakat and Sadaqah (Charity)

   • Instills generosity and social responsibility, deepening wisdom in economic and ethical matters.

4. Hajj (Pilgrimage)

   • Promotes unity, patience, and global awareness, teaching valuable lessons about life and spirituality.

5. Recitation and Reflection on the Quran

   • The Quran is the ultimate source of hikmah,

To conclude ,Ibadah is a means to acquire hikmah because it nurtures the soul, disciplines the body, and sharpens the intellect.

Khusyu’ in Salah means performing the prayer with full concentration, humility, and sincerity, free from distractions. Achieving khusyu’ requires both physical and spiritual preparation.

1. Dress Properly and Modestly

   • Wear clean, appropriate clothing to enhance the feeling of standing before Allah.

2. Clear Your Mind

   • Take a moment to disconnect from worldly concerns before starting Salah.

3. Maintain Eye Focus (Sujud Point)

   • Keeping your gaze on the place of sujud helps prevent distractions.

Conclusion,Khusyu’ is not achieved instantly but through consistent effort. By preparing both physically and mentally, understanding the significance of prayer, and minimizing distractions, one can develop a deep, meaningful connection with Allah in Salah.

   • Salah with khusyu’ removes worries and anxieties.

   • Prayers performed sincerely wipe away past minor sins.

Lastly, Salah with khusyu’ is not just a ritual but a source of deep spiritual growth, inner peace, and divine reward. By striving for khusyu’, a person attains true success in both this life and the next.

1. Earns the Pleasure and Reward of Allah

   • The reward for fasting is beyond measure, showing its high status in Islam.

2. Acts as a Shield from Sins and Hellfire

   • Fasting suppresses desires and protects from wrongdoing.

3. Brings Spiritual and Physical Cleansing

   • Fasting purifies the heart, mind, and body.

   • It removes toxins, increases discipline, and strengthens patience.

Conclusion, Ibadah is a means to acquire hikmah because it nurtures the soul, disciplines the body, and sharpens the intellect.

1. Purification of Wealth & Soul – Zakah purifies one's earnings and soul from greed

2. Increased Blessings & Sustenance – Charity does not decrease wealth but instead brings barakah

3. A Path to Jannah – The generous are promised a place in Paradise

4. Social Welfare & Justice – It reduces economic disparity and supports the needy.

Both Zakah (obligatory) and Sadaqah (voluntary) are means of spiritual growth, social harmony, and divine reward.

1. Closeness to Allah – Being in sacred places like the Kaaba and Arafah enhances one's connection with Allah.

2. Following the Footsteps of Prophets – Hajj and Umrah revive the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

3. Continuous Rewards (Ongoing Good Deeds) – Every step taken during Hajj and Umrah brings blessings and rewards (Tirmidhi).

   
   

To conclude that, Hajj (obligatory) and Umrah (voluntary) serve as powerful acts of worship that bring immense spiritual benefits, purification, and divine rewards.
