With current non-biased polls, Whitmer is in the lead for popularity by about 6%. On top of their popularity, Whitmer is the current incumbent candidate with no opposition in her party. Although Michigan went red back in 2016 for Trump it has still remained a blue-leaning state giving Whitmer the upper hand yet again. In conclusion, it feels as though the deck is stacked in Whitmer's favor, leading to the safe prediction of Whitmer taking the cake.
