This may be new to you but Pal is a very talented guy. This picture was taken last 2009 before a dance number in an org event in UST. I still remember the practices wherein we would laugh and get angry at ourselves at the same time because of not doing the right step.

Here are some early memories when me and my sister, Jen, coming from New York, visited our cousins in the Philippines in 1998 and 2002. I remember watching the movie Ice Age which was cool to watch on a very hot day, and spending a fun day at Villa Escudero. Grateful to share these limited moments that spend a lifetime in the heart. - Love, Joe.

Brother from another mother ❤️

Just wanted to share the last photo I had taken with him before his operation. He was my batchmate when we trained as officer in ROTC and we havent seen each other for years. When he reached out for blood donations for his heart operation, I was excited to donate because we had the same blood type which is uncommon. Unfortunately, i wasnt allowed to donate due to low hemoglobin so I just made a way to visit him in his room even though visitors were not allowed 😄 I was so glad I did that because I didnt know that it will be the last conversation we will ever have. Im really shocked that this happened to him because he even messaged our group after operation that he was recovering already. He also told me that I should be able to donate after 50 years when he needs to undergo surgery again, to which I replied that I hope by then he will no longer need surgery because he would have healed. Its just so sad, he’s so full of life before this 😔 but maybe god has his own reasons. Rest in peace Paolo, you will be missed ❤️

Pal was one of the most bibo kids I've known since CYA days. We would go to mission trips, biglaang lakads, "tara comshop" or just the frequent CYA org room tambays.

As time passed by, Pal has been one of our frienemies when it came to Frisbee as I became part of Lingkod Warriors and him being the MVP/flag bearers of UST Royals Frisbee Team. When he graduated I really looked forward to have him as our team mate in Lingkod Warriors wahahaha but deeper to it was to serve with him in Lingkod (this is where CYA graduates go when they are professionals of their fields) to share the joy, passion and laughter that he had with other young men and women.

Gone too soon indeed, bro but I believe your legacy will continue to live. See you there in Heaven when God says so. Hehe. Pag may Kairos Summer Games, paramdam ka ha. An encouragement/sign from you will definitely boost my morale or even the team as if we're playing with you. We will miss you bro!

Pal was one of the most reliable brother one could ask for in cya-ust. Andiyan sya lagi when we needed help. He even cancelled his plan in joining some of the brothers for a fellowship just so he could help us early the next day. There were times that service could be a little frustrating but he always lended an ear to hear our rants 🥺 I am honored and glad that I got the chance to work with him in service & have always looked forward to our seco reunions coz I know he would always say yes to meet ups. Till our next reunion in heaven, Pal!

Throwback Gabaldon Mission Trip 2012

This was my very first mission trip in CYA (probably first in my entire life). Most men in this photo initially do not know each other that much (not aware that we have something in common - tahimik pero makulit, friendly and adventurous). Pal and I crossed path po in UST. Naging magclassmate kami, sabay pumasa and minsan sabay bumagsak haha pareho kaming irregular student. One generosity I experienced with him ay humingi ako ng favor sa kanya na magbuhat ng boquet ng flowers! i think Valentines yun in one awkward Saturday class (kasi 7-8 Englsih class lang sya) The boquet is for my gf that time. nahihya kasi ako magbuhat ng boquet. so from UST , went to Dangwa to buy flowers and went to Cubao via LRT and

walked to Baliaug Bus station kasi taga bulacan si gf. He gave his effort and time! Next time na yung ibang honoring for him :) Paolo, P'pao, Palashi, Pal. Rest in peace Bro!

Pal is one of the kindest people in up diliman ultimate organization (up duo). siya yung tao na wala kang masasabi, kahit down sa game, naka smile, tatawa lang siya. tama po sila kanina, grabe po yung pag raise niyo sa kanya kasi he is an amazing person inside and out. sobrang nagreflect po sa kanya yung how you taught him. we are very blessed na nakasalamuha ko si pao sa buhay ko. I’m sure sobrang healthy na po siya sa taas and sobrang warm ng puso niya ngayon knowing we are honoring his presence. sobrang salamat po. <3

Pal is very caring and gentleman brother. Lagi namin sya kasabay sa carpool rides kasi on the way kami sa commonwealth. I also found out that same yung lolo at lola namin nakabury sa Serenity. And we share the same thoughts about the trees and the sun in it. Salamat Pal. You are God's testament of light and kindness. Rest easy now.

Pal, I'll be missing you bro.

You really had a gift of being inclusive and upbuilding, especially in the ultimate (frisbee) domain. Always the common face for me amongst a sea of strangers, someone who had made friends with so many, whether as a player, as a marshal or as a photographer. Sheesh, never tayo ata naging teammates!!! Palaging kalaban on the field but thankfully never off.

Really blessed as well for our friendship and brotherhood in CYA. 10 years in college is no joke, but it shows how you're an example of someone who takes things lightly enough that it doesn't get the better of you and with the right amount of seriousness and perseverance in order to get through the ordeals.

Writing this honestly helps me more than anything, but I guess it's worth sharing with others a little a bit about you and the personal impact you had in my life. Grabe, if it weren't for the pandemic, sobrang sure mag-oorganize kami ng HAT tourney in honor of (and support for) you.

May you be rejoicing in heaven bro, where there's endless ultimate, plenty of photo-genic things, and the best places of all to express your liveliness and contagious joy with everyone else who has gone ahead. Home Away From Home

I never wanted to go to UST but I still enrolled because I dreamed of being a doctor and it was the best medical school. I became a lost, homesick, displaced freshman. Eventually, I ended up in CYA-UST where I met kuya Pal. He was one of the kuyas and ates that made a little home for me in the sea of all things new and uncertain. On bad days dadaan lang ako sa org room and kuya Pal would be there. He’d come up with a game or an activity to get everyone to meet and know each other until I’d forget about why the day was bad in the first place. His joy was infectious. Some nights, when my roommate and I would get home sick, he’d take us out on photo walks or show us beautiful little pockets of space in UST we could run to if we ever needed to take some space to think. He made UST feel like a home away from home.

Embodiment of Spirit

In Ultimate frisbee, we go by the guiding principles of "The Spirit of the Game." This involves good sportsmanship, mutual respect, and understanding. As a fresh recruit for the CYA UST frisbee team way back, I idolized our team captain. I definitely say he is the embodiment of the spirit of the game. Kind to both teammates and rival teams, uplifting the team spirit with his smiles and even congratulating the opposite teams for doing good plays, I could not think of a better way to describe him. Pal, along with the other senior members of the team, became my idols as to what type of player I want to become. I am grateful for him for teaching me to be a good player and person, and thankful for allowing me to get to meet the friends I call family now. Throwing "Hammers" will never be the same without you catching it Pal. Cheers for all the good times we had.

The first time I met Pal was during the CYA Summer Games. He introduced himself as Pal while making a gesture of a plane taking off with his hand. My friend and I were new to the team since we joined last minute but Pal was really friendly and didn’t make us feel left out. I also noticed that there were members in the team who were new to the sport, ultimate frisbee, and Pal was really patient and supportive in guiding them. Pal was a really good friend and team mate who brought good vibes all the time. Pal may have had a heart problem, but he was never short of showing love to the people around him through his words and actions. I will definitely miss seeing Pal in the UST field and future leagues won’t be the same, but I’m sure he’s having the best time playing ultimate up there in heaven. Thanks for everything Pal! Rest easy. We’re praying for you.

Pal will always be someone I connect with Ultimate Frisbee and the Kairos Summer Games. He's a great team player, one who encourages and supports his brother and sister - teammates whether they are winning or trailing behind the other team. On the occasions that I've watched him and the brothers and sisters play, I see someone who is passionate about not just the game/sport but the opportunities he has to play with his brothers and sisters in Christ!

May you enjoy eternity with our Lord, our ultimate desire! May you continue to pray for us as we deal with the shock of you passing and as we move forward in our lives knowing that you won't be there to share funny stories over good food in the presence of good company. It is God's plan that our path's crossed and I will be forever grateful and blessed that I have met him during my college life. We met in CYA UST, since then he was one of the nicest, passionate on what he loves- very sporty, gentleman, humorous, down to earth, very "kalog", makulit, God's servant, and kindest brother that I have met. He is a life giving person, he is very thoughtful and generous. He wants everyone to be happy and enjoy life despite problems in academics or in personal life. He was one of the genuine brother that I have met. " masaya at masarap kasama at kakwentuhan!" Yan si Palashi! yan ang ilan sa kanyang super powers ! :) Thank you for your endless love, support, surprises and friendship Pal! will surely miss your smile but our treasured memories will be kept in our hearts forever!
