Listening to the sounds of the foot steps
Slow walking can take place in any environment including the backyard or a local park. Today when i took the walk i wanted to re-engage myself from the nature as we all have contemporary lifestyle and hours of daily screen time. I wanted to look around take in the smells, the sounds the texture of the plants."Sensory walking is a way for walkers to slow down, stop and take it in, to switch to their senses again."
From indigenous perspective i feel it's very important to get connected with cultural history around you so you feel with in you and you feel connected to the community. When i was walking around i noticed so many different plants there were of so many different colours plants with different species. I fully got connected with the land from one side there was such a strong fragrance was coming i still don't know which type of plant was that but it was divine.
I feel that i can engage children with these types of walk by telling them about the history of the land and to respect their surroundings.
