Her mother is an alcoholic and take pills. Eventually Haven’s mother overdosed. At first Grant didn’t hurt Haven, Haven went to her new school and met a boy. He was really rude to her at first and then later tries to be her friend. He buys her a phone and takes her home. Grant finds out and told her to stop. Grant then sees it again and he snaps. When Haven got home he beat her and then stabbed her. She calls the boy she met, Damian Knight, he was able to get to her and be with her. She is then adopted by his parents and at first all is good. They never caught Grant and he leaves a dead cat and uses it’s bodily fluid to write a nasty word. He then targets the school and nearly killed her and her friends. In the end, she had a happy ending.

The novel has abuse and attempted murder. The story had lots of page turners, and I found myself reading this in one sitting.
