I live in Pace, FL (near Pensacola) and am in the central time zone. My favorite book as a child were the Shel Silverstein poems. And through middle school, I loved the Sweet Valley High series. I don't really remember the specifics, but I do remember wishing I could just pull on jeans and a sweater and head out the door like the main characters (twins, I think), but as a chubby kid myself, it was pretty plus sizes and nothing seemed to fit well. Anyway, more recently, I loved I Love You Stinky Face, for my own children (they are now 24,22,19, and 13), and I LOVE reading Junie B. Jones to my first graders. Jones (although they are usually mortified by her horrible grammar!). I graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.  Currently, I am teaching math I’ve been teaching for 5 years now. I’m in the Curriculum and Instruction at UWF I will be finished this December. I enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss books as a child. I am excited to learn new concepts and ideas about reading strategies and literature. I teach at James S Rickards high school grades 9-12. Although I teach math I want  to learn new reading strategies to use with my students in the classroom. I look forward to learning new material this semester.

5. I am currently a first grade teacher. Last year, I taught kindergarten. This will be my second year teaching so I am still fairly new to the profession.

4. I love reading Historical Fiction, Classic Works of Literature and my favorite novel as a young adult was Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. My 7th grade students still read this novel in their ELA class and it provides great connections to the Revolutionary Era that we study in History class. 

5.
