         <title>Michelangelo was born on 6 March 1475, in Caprese, a village in Tuscany near Arezzo. He was the second of five sons of Ludovico di Leonardo Buonarroti di Simoni and Francesca di Neri del Miniato di Siena. His mother died in 1481, when Michelangelo was six years old. </title>
