The Black Panther party recruited Tarika Lewis as the 1st female recruit for the party.<br><br>*K- I knew that the Black Panther party was a group of Black individuals that fought brutally against White Americans to defend their rights by any means necessary.<br>*W- I want to learn more about what made the party use violence instead of peaceful protest like Martin Luther King Jr.<br>*L- I learned that Eldridge Cleaver challenged Ronald Reagan to a Dual fight because he thought that Reagan was a racist pig, who was weak.</div>]]></description>

There was riots everywhere, and in the south, these riots were very violent.<br>4. The Black Panther party transformed the way America view guns and weapons.<br>5. T. Lewis was the first recruiter in the Black Panther party in Oakland, CA.<br>L-I learned that the Panther Bill made it illegal to carry a gun or a weapon in California.<br>K- I knew that violence was an issue in this time period, and that the effects of this were polarizing. <br>W- I want to learn more about the gun battle on October 28, 1967, and why the man that was charged with murder was sentenced to the gas chamber.</div>]]></description>
