Just before the lockdown, I had plans set up for the filming and production of my final outcomes. 

When: Planning to shoot from third - fourth week of March.
What: Taking photos and shooting videos of Sunnies Face products and the models.
Where: Both indoor location (photography studio) and outdoor location (park).
Who: Models with different skin tones to show diversity.

Because of the current situation, I've come across limitations on the production of my work. I will have to work from home due to the lockdown which means I won't be able to shoot my models both in the studio and outdoor.

Regarding technical support, I have both my tutors feedback to help improve my future work. My tutor also introduce us to Si Andrews from Digital Design. He has a Google Classroom set up in which he has a number of technical support tutorials and links especially for creating moving image and videos. Furthermore, there are free video editing and animation soft ware links from the Animation Programme leader, to help with editing videos.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, I will have to think of a new plan to create my final outcome. Instead of meeting with my models, I will have to ask them to send me their self portraits following my instructions on the makeup, poses and lighting. I will also have to play around with the products. Also following my ideas, I will experiment doing the paper tearing effect on my final images. 

Another idea is to continue creating gifs/graphic work using the products. I know a free editing app where I could use different filters and effects to make the images and gifs quirky. I will have to play with the editing and creating abstract images/gifs.

Furthermore, I will have to create a branded document, website pages and social media pages, invites to a launch. The images and gifs that will be created can then be posted into these. Research into latest beauty imagery that would suit Millennials and Gen Z.
This is the latest Gucci Beauty Campaign, #GUCCIBEAUTYNETWORK showing message about authentic beauty that lies in imperfection. This campaign introduces the first Gucci Makeup collection by Alessandro Michele.

Also, the collection was inspired by vintage Hollywood movie stars with a surreal dream sequence presented as 80s aesthetic of irony, humour and playfulness. This could be my inspiration for my shooting without models.

Based on the article, the Head of Fashion Innovation Agency (FIA), Matthew Drinkwater, at the London College of Fashion
says that his team's workload has escalated quickly due to the crisis. The agency develops consumer experiences that bring technology giants including Microsoft and film & tv production company together with leading fashion brands.

One of the impact of Covid-19 is forcing brands to engage and experiment with technologies. There are requests coming up for FIA to create virtual clothing, virtual catwalks and virtual showrooms. This could be an opportunity to build more sustainable and progressive future.

This also affects my work as I will have to use digital platforms to produce my final outcomes and instead of using sketchbook to note down my ideas.

Here is my experiment of the illustration/sketch effect as one of my idea for my final outcome. To do this, I used an app called PicsArt which has the sketch effect. I then moved the sketch around to my liking. After using the brush tool, it is time to add the background image by clicking place linked. I then placed it underneath the original photo. Then selecting the move tool, I then moved the second photo around (make it bigger). To make the torn paper effect realistic, I then created another layer and placed it underneath the main photo again. On this blank layer, I have to fill in white colour by using paint bucket. Holding ALT key + layer mask, it makes the white colour invisible for a moment. Then, clicking the layer mask and using the brush tool, I then started clicking the edges to create that white corners effect similar to an actual teared paper. To separate the photos from the teared effect, I then applied some shadows. First of all, I activated the first layer (original), right click and then I selected blending options. I then turned on drop shadows and clicked on multiply blend mode. I then applied the same thing to the second layer. Here are my edits of the torn paper effect using Photoshop which I have explained above, when I was experimenting how to do this effect. The idea is to mixed two photos into one where one photo is zoomed in to focus on the lips. 
The only concern I have is the photos might not be HD and clear enough since the models only used their phones to take these photos.

Instead of just using the brush tool with torn paper effect, I added a layer of the photo with borders I edited on top of the original photo. Using Photoshop, I then edited the photos by adding the brand logo name as well as captions about the lipsticks. I tried to match the colours of the logo and the caption to that of the lipsticks. Lastly, I added the photo of the lipsticks at the bottom of the photo that matched the model's lipstick. Here is the feedback from my tutor after sending her my first pieces of edits. This would help me tweaked the errors on my edits including unsuitable type of font and colour used for the captions which did not give that fresh and modern feel as well as it wasn't easy to read. 

Furthermore, the product image that I placed at the bottom part of the image looked too amateur because of the table in the background. Regarding the brand name, Sunnies Face might not be suited to British market as the grammar is wrong.

Following the feedback, I then researched for potential fonts that I could use. I found this website that offers free fonts and they also just released 26 new and fresh fonts.

Another suggestion was to use similar font as the original brand logo. I used the website 'Fonts Squirrel' to try to match and identify Sunnies Face logo. Luckily, there is a typography font called 'Aguardiente' by Daniel Johnson which is free to download and looked identical to the original font used by Sunnies Face.

Here is my action after reading the feedback. I experimented with different fonts, one of these is the 'Aguardiente' and another font I downloaded called 'ForestSmooth-Regular' from the Graphic Design Junction website. I then experimented with different colours for the font and see how they would look like on top of the image, whether it will be easier to read or not. I decided to come up with two outcomes with different colours, which are bright red and yellow colours.
I will then ask for further feedback from my tutor.

I then placed the lipstick stain sticker at the bottom part of the images. Then, I used lasso tool for the Fluffmatte images so i could get rid of the background. To improve it, I could have taken more shots of the products and put up individual photos of each products with individual prices. My major problem is the lack of time to do the shoot.
