         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong>Species are groups of organisms that can potentially interbreed to produce fertile offspring&nbsp;</strong></li><li><strong><em>When two members of the same species mate and produce offspring they are interbreeding.&nbsp;</em></strong></li><li><strong><em>When two members of different species breed together they are cross-breeding. (the offspring produced by cross-breeding between species are almost always infertile, which prevents the genes of two species becoming mixed.) &nbsp;</em></strong></li></ul>]]></description>

(If two populations live in different areas then they are unlikely to interbreed each other. However, this doesn't mean that they are different species. If they could potentially interbreed, then they are still members of the same species.&nbsp;</em></strong></li><li><strong><em>If two populations of a species never interbreed then they may gradually develop differences in their characters.&nbsp;</em></strong></li></ul>]]></description>

(Many types of bacteria and fungi are saprotrophic). <br>They are also known as decomposers because they break down carbon compounds in dead organic matter and release elements into the ecosystem, such as nitrogen. </div>]]></description>
