Callie has a crush on Greg, who is the brother of her theatre friend (Matt), but it didn't work out, because he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend, Bonnie. During the time when auditions come, Callie meets two friends (who are twin brothers), Justin and Jesse. They are as different as chalk and cheese. Justin is an exuberant, bright person, longing to get the leading role. But his twin Jesse is on the shy side and prefers to let his brother shine instead. She is feeling happy, and as Jesse joins the group, she starts pursuing him.

Sophia's Book Review:
Drama is a total delight.  From the very first picture, you know that you are entering a world full of comedy and adventure.  She uses colourful, fun artwork to tell a serious yet humorous story.  I absolutely love Raina's fantastic graphic work and how she uses them to encourage people to to be friends with others, despite different culture and likes. It is a great read and I strongly recommend Drama to all children! More than 10 people fought for the throne, and no one was as surprised as Henry VII when he took his reign. There were many fakers, who claimed they should be king. However, only one person was able to almost stop the Tudors, and that was Lambert Simnel. So they battled each other, and Henry won.  Lambert was then given a job as a servant in the palace kitchen.  But there is much more gruesome stuff than Lambert... the first Tudor had a bloodstained body of his defeated opponent, which was tied to a horse, then shown to the people!  The people during Tudor times get executed for even the slightest mistakes - during games, telling the Tudor king they would die, and when Henry VIII's wife couldn't produce a male heir. 

Queen Elizabeth, on the other hand, was very cautious about her money. She expects to win in every single gamble. And when she pays a visit to anyone, she expects the best room in the house and the cleanest hygiene.  However, like the Tudors, she struggled with the lack of toilets. They needed to migrate to another castle each time the place was under service!

Sophia's Book Review:
A witty and funny read that I would recommend to all children who are interested in learning more about Tudor times. This book is filled with fascinating information, fun quizzes and cool graphic illustrations, which encourages me to keep reading on and on. Learning history is so fun with Horrible Histories. This is the first Terry Deary book that I have ever read, and it definitely won't be my last!

Agatha constantly explores means and ways to escape from the fairy tale but Sophie wishes to return to the good school she once hoped for and graduate a princess. Sophie is overly smitten with the legendary son of King Arthur, Tedros, but he has set his heart on Agatha.  The two girls soon discovered that the only way out of a fairy tale is to survive through it.

Sophia's Book Review:
Soman Chainani takes me through an enthralling and dangerous fantasy experience. I simply enjoyed the way how he makes the story come to life, and venture the meaning of true love and grey area between Good and Evil. Can't wait to check out Soman's next books, A World Without Princes, The Last Ever After and Quests for Glory!

Herod Sayle wants him to be the first to try the Stormbreaker.  Sayle also plans to have the Prime Minister press on the Start button.  By doing so, every child in England will be killed. 

But will the children be saved? Read on to find out if Alex would save them all!

Sophia's Book Review
The story is filled with thrills, action and adventure, and it is an easy read to children. However, I would have expected more from the story, to have less repetition of events and words, so it could be even better!

The story begins in a single graveyard, with people of the dead and the living. In the first lines of the story, a man named Jack is mentioned (written as the man Jack). He was the sinister killer of a grown up boy, Nobody Owens's past family, and the last of the "Jack of all Trades".  Nobody Owens "Bod" is brought up by ghosts in the graveyard, who is curious about the outside world, and always would love to travel out of the margin and venture the unknown, inexperienced paths. 
In Bod's home, he meets several people, including the famous poet Nehemiah Trot, a live girl, Scarlett Amber Perkins, a vampire, Silas, who is the former guardian of Bod himself, Josiah Worthington, Caius Pompeius - one of the oldest members of the grave, and many more.
When Silas leaves to discover information, Bod gets disappointed. A young woman, Miss Lupescu, is hired to teach him long, mundane lessons. To Bod, she is terrible  - she prepares unappetising meals (good food, Ms Lupescu has said to him) every time he attends her classes. Bod is beginning to suffer bouts of different emotions ... When will it all be settled?

Sophia's Book Review:

The Graveyard Book is a wonderful, excellent novel written by Neil Gaiman, a British Author. His other stories include Coraline, Harlequin Valentine, Snow, Glass, Apples and many other stories. This is a fit for those who like short stories with pinches of horror, adventure and thrill. I would highlight on some improvements to make the story sound even better: To exclude some repetition of words and use more exciting language.

However, no one takes concern on her statements, until some of the signs start to experience catastrophes on their planets, too. Rho is also accompanied by her Royal Guard, Lodestar Mathias Thais, and a young representative of House Libra, Hysan Dax. And so they embark on a treacherous journey, filled with twists and turns.

Sophia's Book Review

Zodiac is a well-paced expedition, with hints of romance and suspense. I'd suggest this series of books to those who adore adventure and sci-fi. Raina's story tells the uneven relationship of she and her sister during a road trip to Colorado for a family reunion with cousins and friends.

Her life was pretty much normal, until the year 1942, when the Nazis invaded Holland, the family fled home in Amsterdam and sought shelter. Once a spoilt child of Edith Frank (mother) and Otto Frank (father), she turned into a dull, humourless little girl in her later years, towards her death. 
The Diary of a Young Girl was written in June 12, 1942, on Anne's 13th birthday, and ended briefly after her fifteenth.  Frank constructed vivid impressions of what she went through during her lifetime. The headstrong, enthusiastic girl was always misunderstood and blamed by her mother, whom she had a constant stormy relationship with, for nearly everything. 
But will her life be peaceful in the end? Read on to find out more...

Sophia's Book Review:
Anne Frank has given the people of the world a story of romance and terror but also with hints of happiness and hope. This book is surely encouraged to people who like finding out people's true stories, their experiences and what background they have left behind.  I was mesmerised by the first few pages of Frank's diary.

Rick Riordan has provided me with an adventurous journey, and I would describe it with three words: witty, dangerous and shocking. It also involves some competitiveness and most importantly, happiness in the end!

After some time flying on the Green Hornet, Louis and a crew, including "Phil" Phillips and Francis McNamara find themselves at sea, on a raft, surrounded be dangerous sharks.  Unfortunately, McNamara passes away at sea, leaving only Phil and Louis behind, who both survive for well over 45 days.  
Unexpectedly, they are suddenly caught and dumped at a Prisoners of War (POW) camp. All the guards are strict, but there is one nicknamed the Bird, and that is Mutsuhiro Watanabe, who can be harsh at times, but sometimes a real soft one. Louis is relentlessly punched in the face - to him it feels like getting shot.

Sophia's Book Review:
Laura Hillenbrand has written a story that consists of the feelings of determination, grief, and subtle humour.  There is a point to highlight, and that is to eliminate some of the repetition in the story.

Baby Sitting isn't easy - taking care of dogs, medical emergencies, grumpy children, prank calls, etc, and neither is tackling relentlessly overprotective parents who want the best for their children. However, this doesn't make the BSC feel blue, and they have the most important thing amongst all of them - friendship.

Ann M. Kristy later suggests that they should include new members of the club, like asking some eighth-graders in school.  Several people dismiss the fact about joining, and some things are happening...
Mrs Newton recently delivers a baby (Lucy Jane Newton). Jamie Newton, one of the kids the Claudia, Kristy and Mary Anne have sat for, is unhappy about this.  He also tells Mary Anne that the sitters are quite untrustworthy, including one that left a burn mark from a cigarette in one of the couches Mrs Newton sits on.  Eventually, members of the Baby-Sitters Agency are fired.  
Stacey also befriends her ex-best friend Laine Cummings. They have had a fight since Stacey was diagnosed.  So when the McGills and Cummingses are at the cinema, Laine apologises to Stacey; she says that she was jealous of her friend because of the abundance of attention given to her when she had diabetes.  
Eventually, Edward and Maureen McGill (Stacey's parents) agree to get their daughter involved in any decisions about her health care.  

 
Sophia's Book Review:
This graphic novel includes sentimental moments, e.g.  Stacey plonking her head into a shallow bowl and getting driven away by an ambulance, the Baby-Sitters Club disappointed about the fact that Mrs Newton needed an older sitter for Lucy, and many other things.  It may also teach kids to be on the safe side, too!

This high fantasy book by Soman Chainani is densely packed with mysterious magic, funniness and love. I really enjoyed the manner he used in writing his stories - he describes everything in a detailed way and uses powerful words that deliver fascination to the book. However, I'd like to highlight an improvement, and that is to be aware of the length of the sentences - too short and it won't keep the reader continuing, but too long and people'll feel bored when reading.

But after Kristy decides to sit for Karen and Andrew Brewer, they receive a phone call from Mrs. Newton, requesting for a baby-sitter for Jamie and the new baby, Lucy.  Everyone is free, then Kristy thinks that she could supply the family with some baby equipment.  Claudia reverts to her that she was supposed to offer the job around.  Because of this, Kristy gets called "Job Hog" by Claudia.  Claudia tells everyone she is free of moral sin, and Stacey responded to her only this time she was innocent.  Later, Stacey called the rest of the team names (Claudia - Job Hog, Bossy Know-It-All - Kristy, Shy baby - Mary Anne), and shortly after, it becomes an orchestra of quarrelling.  Everyone starts sitting at separate tables at school, and soon, Mary Anne makes friends with a girl called Dawn Read Schafer, who is actually Mary Anne's stepsister (Mr Spier was in love with Mrs Schafer).  Also, during Jamie's 4th birthday, when many friends were invited, the girls persistently fight and almost wreak havoc on the special event.  Will the BSC make up and forgive each other, or will they be arch-enemies for a long time?

 
Sophia's Book Review:

Will it be possible for the entire community to be saved once and for all one day? Or will the shocking but actual information bring serious shock to Rho just to vanquish her alone?


Sophia's Book Review:
This is Romina Russell's third book of her science-fiction series, and includes powerful words in almost every paragraph of every page, sentiment and romance. It would make a more high-quality book only if some of the repetition in this story was eliminated, otherwise it would sound very boring and not encourage the readers to keep flipping the pages continuously.
