Eliza Doolittle is a little wacky in the beginning. She was very pushy with others when she was trying to sell her flowers. Although, as she became a lady, all that changed. She was respectful of others and did not butt in to conversations. She spoke when spoken to and was very kind to others. Her manners were very nice as well when she became a lady.

She thinks it is a cop but it is just Henry Higgins, he states that he could take her and teach her how to be a lady and could pass her off as one anywhere. Later the next day she arrives at Higgins' house and makes a deal with him that he will teach her to be a lady. Through out the next 6 months, Higgins, Pickering, and Mrs. Pearce teach Eliza to speak and behave like a lady.

Old England is where this play takes place. This is significant because they had social classes which plays into it very well because Eliza was the lowest class but was then taught how to become a lady and then rises in the social classes. Speech is Old-time England is also significant because if you did not speak very well then you were obviously a lower class, like Eliza. Speech was very important to the classes in England.

I enjoyed the play for the most part. The only thing that I did not like is that some parts were hard to read/understand. This was really only a problem in the first part of the play before she learned how to speak like a proper lady. Other than that, i enjoyed and understood the play pretty well.
