Some refugees cannot obtain their credentials. Additionally, several countries give diplomas, but not transcripts to go with it.

Assisting students with process to have their native transcripts, translated or transcribed into English. Cost can be a factor for some students.

This is not a service we provide. Our ELs have a low-literacy background, many of whom never had the opportunity to attend school.

We have a long standing partnership with a construction company that is the origin of our first IET. Also developing internships with county departments to offer opportunities for IET graduates

We have local employers present their job opportunities to our students, generally in manufacturing and hospitality. We also tour local job sites.

We are able to translate documents with the help our college's Foundation after finding a least expensive alternative that is widely accepted by our college and DPI.

The constraints of validation for certain degrees, specially in the fields of health and engineering.

Many of the Employers that have employment aligned with certificates and diplomas of our IET programs, provide incentives to their employees who are seeking different positions for better pay. Examples are: Tuition reimbursement from the Employers, and/or first consideration for positions that align with the employees new technical skill sets.

Follow-up with our Higher Level Leadership for approval to move forward in applying for the IET grant to both build a new program, and expand on another. At our institution, Higher Level Leadership provide approval first before grant applications are submitted.

We have incorporated program tours into our ELL classes to expose ELL students to college programs, specifically Electrician, HVAC, and Automotive.
